Job Title: Senior Manager Programs

The position is for a potential project aimed at increasing the economic opportunities of family farmers of Gilgit - Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan, with a special emphasis on women and youth, and is contingent upon project approval. Senior Manager Programs will report to the Project Coordinator.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager Programs will oversee the strategic implementation and management of program activities, ensuring they align with the project's goals. This role involves coordinating program components, managing resources, and ensuring the successful delivery of programmatic outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement program strategies and action plans to meet project objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery of program components, including training, market setup, and value chain workshops.
  • Ensure that program activities are executed effectively and efficiently, with a focus on achieving desired outcomes.
  • Oversee the allocation and utilization of program resources, including budgeting and procurement.
  • Monitor and manage program expenditures to ensure alignment with financial plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to program staff to optimize resource use.
  • Collaborate with the Project Coordinator, team members, and external partners to ensure cohesive program execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with cooperatives, government agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate program success.
  • Support the organization of South-South exchange visits and technical workshops.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program performance and impact.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present progress reports and impact assessments to the Project Coordinator and other stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion and enhancement based on needs assessments and stakeholder feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of new program initiatives and strategies to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Manage and supervise program staff, providing leadership and support to ensure high performance and adherence to project goals.
  • Facilitate training and capacity-building activities for program staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Program Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 08 years of experience in program management, with a focus on agriculture or rural development.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex programs and working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of cooperative management, value chains, and climate-smart agricultural practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
