Job Title: Manager Agriculture Tourism
The position is for a potential project aimed at increasing the economic opportunities of family farmers of Gilgit - Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan, with a special emphasis on women and youth, and is contingent upon project approval. This position reports to the Project Coordinator.
Job Summary:
The Manager Agriculture Tourism will oversee the development and management of agriculture tourism initiatives. This role involves creating tourism programs, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring that tourism activities contribute to the project’s objectives and enhance the economic benefits for farmers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for agriculture tourism, including program design, marketing strategies, and operational guidelines.
- Create and manage tourism packages that highlight local agricultural practices, produce, and culture, and offer immersive experiences for visitors.
- Collaborate with agricultural cooperatives, local businesses, and tourism agencies to develop and promote agriculture tourism opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to enhance the visibility and appeal of agriculture tourism programs.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of agriculture tourism activities, including visitor management, event planning, and logistics.
- Ensure that tourism programs are conducted in a manner that showcases best practices in agriculture while providing a high-quality experience for visitors.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote agriculture tourism programs, including digital marketing, social media campaigns, and partnerships with tourism organizations.
- Create promotional materials, including brochures, websites, and social media content, to attract and inform potential visitors.
- Provide training and support to cooperative members and local stakeholders involved in agriculture tourism, ensuring they are equipped to deliver exceptional visitor experiences.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops on tourism hospitality, customer service, and best practices in agriculture tourism.
- Establish metrics and evaluate the performance of agriculture tourism programs, including visitor satisfaction, revenue generation, and impact on local communities.
- Collect and analyze feedback from visitors and stakeholders to continuously improve tourism offerings and address any issues.
- Develop and manage budgets for agriculture tourism programs, ensuring cost-effective operations and financial sustainability.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, to the Project Coordinator.
- Stay informed about trends and innovations in agriculture tourism to enhance program offerings and attract a diverse audience.
- Implement new ideas and strategies to improve the quality and appeal of agriculture tourism programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management, Agriculture, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 05 years of experience in tourism management, preferably with a focus on agriculture or rural tourism.
- Strong knowledge of agriculture tourism trends, marketing strategies, and operational best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and manage multiple tasks effectively.
