CAB International (Regional Bioscience Centre Pakistan) is seeking Field Facilitators to implement the donor funded project on Better Cotton in Haroonabad, District Bahawalnagar, Punjab.

The selected candidates for Field Facilitator (FF) will be expected to implement the Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).

Key accountabilities 

  • Prepare detailed implementation plan of training for farmers on Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) for cotton crop.
  • Survey for selection of potential cotton farmers and updating the information for existing cotton growers.
  • Registration and successful capacity building of farmers and workers regarding best practices and Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS).
  • Farmers, farm workers (male and female) capacity building on relevant   criteria for Better Cotton production, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) for cotton production and record keeping.
  • Facilitate the famers/growers to register and develop as producer organizations.
  • To conduct the internal assessment of registered cotton growers.
  • Prepare the fortnightly progress reports and submit to Producer Unit Managers.
  • Collection of seed cotton data (available and sold) from registered cotton growers and sharing with Producer Unit Managers.
  • Prepare technical reports of cotton growers.
  • Collection and verification of Result Indicator Data (RI) from farmers and its submission to Producer Unit Manager with in the given time period.
  • Complete and timely submission of any assignment given by line manager.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated, an enthusiastic team player and able to manage conflicting priorities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, preferably in Entomology, Plant Protection, Agronomy or related to Crop Production
Experience
  • Knowledge of BCI Production principles and Criteria.
  • Strong understanding of cotton production technology and its sustainability issues.

Personal Characteristics

  • Strong organisational and learning skills;
  • A team player with good interpersonal, communication and networking skills;
  • Comfortable working on one’s own initiative as well as following advice;
  • Flexible and creative in planning and problem solving;
  • Willing to travel to remote and challenging locations in Pakistan.
  • Applicant for this role needs to be honest, dedicated, social, motivated, disciplined, and self-organized to deliver quality work at prescribed deadlines.
  • Ability to plan work schedules to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Effective team player and conversant with a transdisciplinary approach.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, Self-motivated, an enthusiastic team player.

ROLE DETAILS

Reporting to: Producer Unit Manager

No. of positions: 50

Contract: 11 months with 3 months probation period. The placement will be made through third-party contracting firm (United Human Resource Services Pvt. Ltd) 

Salary Range: 40,000 PKR (Gross)

Benefits: Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Communication Allowance, Fuel Allowance, EOBI, paid leaves. 

Benefits cost will be deducted from gross salary. 

Location: Haroonabad, District Bahawalnagar. Local candidates will be given preference.
