Program Overview

The Land Registration in Merged Areas (LRMA) activity is a United States Agency for International Development, (USAID) funded project that will support the establishment of a land registration system in the seven districts of the Merged Areas. The activity will improve the accessibility of land records; effectuate land transactions; allow the use of land as collateral and complement the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s efforts under the Settlement and Land Record activity.

Overview of the Position:

Working within the Communications and Outreach team, the Position will be responsible to conduct direct awareness sessions, organize sports galas, facilitate hujra gatherings, and coordinate CBO trainings. The primary objective is to generate public support for GoKP settlement operations and enhance community involvement in LRMA activities. This Position requires a proactive and dynamic individual who can effectively facilitate community outreach, build partnerships, and promote the importance of land registration systems. The public Outreach Officer will work closely with MA communities and Community based organizations to ensure the successful implementation of community mobilization activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with the Public Outreach and Communications Lead to strategically design engagement and outreach events that align with LRMA's communication and outreach Strategy.
  • Support the planning and execution of awareness sessions targeting university students from MAs studying in Peshawar and other cities of KP. Foster discussions on relevant topics, including settlement operations and alternate dispute resolution.
  • Support the planning and conducting of sports competitions for youth engagement in close coordination with LRMA government counterparts. 
  • Support the facilitation of hujra gatherings for the targeted community to generate public buy-in for land settlement operations.
  • Oversee outreach and communication tasks undertaken by LRMA's subcontractor, ensuring the timely submission of high-quality deliverables.
  • Facilitate others LRMA outreach events and training activities. 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (social sciences, community development).
  • At least three years of experience in community outreach, engagement, or related roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Land Settlement and Merged Areas dynamics is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work in rural and remote areas as needed.
