Scope / Purpose of the Position:

The Hygiene Promoter WASH will play a critical role in the implementation of the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project in response to the 2022 flood. This position is within will involves working closely with the local community, stakeholders, and project team members to ensure effective hygiene promotion and behavior change interventions.

In the context of the WASH intervention, safeguard and improve the public health of the affected population by:

  • promoting safe Hygiene practices, including the proper use and maintenance of WASH/WASH infrastructure and services;

  • ensuring appropriate community involvement in the design and delivery of essential WASH/WASH services and infrastructure

  • ensuring the coordination and effective integration of hygiene promotion activities with the provision of water services.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities:

Organization of training for HP volunteers.

Manage and lead the HP volunteer team in coordination with the HQs, office.

In cooperation with the HP team design, plan and manage the implementation of the hygiene promotion strategy of the Pakistan Monsoon Floods operation.

Community hygiene promotion to work on good hygiene practices with members of the targeted communities including the vulnerable groups.

Develop and implement a comprehensive hygiene promotion strategy and action plan in

coordination with the project team.

Conduct assessments to identify hygiene-related needs and gaps in the affected

communities.

Provide technical guidance and support to community volunteers and other stakeholders

on hygiene promotion activities.

Plan and deliver hygiene promotion sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns to

promote safe water, sanitation, and hygiene practices.

Collaborate with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations to

ensure the integration and sustainability of hygiene promotion interventions.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of hygiene promotion activities and provide

regular progress reports.

Coordinate with the project team to ensure the timely procurement and distribution of

hygiene kits and other relevant materials.

Conduct regular field visits to monitor the implementation of hygiene promotion

activities and provide on-site support and guidance as needed.

Facilitate the formation and training of community hygiene committees to promote

community ownership and sustainability of hygiene practices.

Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including government departments, NGOs, and community-based organizations, to ensure coordination and effective implementation of

the project.

Any other duties as assigned by the Management.

Education

 

Bachelor's degree from recognized Institution.

Experience & Knowledge

 
  • At least One year of practical experience in managing plans.

  • Experience and understanding of hygiene promotion and community mobilization in relation to water and sanitation activities.

  • Understanding of international health issues, development work and humanitarian issues.

  • Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disaster-affected populations.

  • Demonstrated experience in integrating gender and diversity issues into public health promotion.

  • Assessment, analysis and planning skills

  • Good command of spoken and written English for reporting purposes.

  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiation skills.

  • Training skills.

  • Human resources management skills

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing needs.

  • Must be able to travel at short notice and work in difficult conditions.

  • Good command of the written and spoken language of the humanitarian operation.

  • Knowledge of WASH and HP.

 

Skills

  • Very Good skills in MS Word, Excel, Power Point.

  • Very Good Communication Skills.

  • Very Good Report Writing Skills.

  • Experience in capacity building and trainings of health service providers.

  • Sound knowledge of software.

  • Very Good team player (service oriented), able to work in stressful situation.

Salary: 90,000/-

Travelling: As and when required to project areas.
