GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Mobilizer Education will assist the Project Officer Community Outreach and Mobilization (COM) for day-to-day implementation of project community mobilization activities using Girl Roster and Boy Matrix tools for selection of dropout students for formal education and out-of-school children and will support in enrolment of potentially identifies program participants in public schools at project locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Organize and conduct community gatherings for Afghan refugees and host communities in targeted location of the project.
  • Collaborate and monitor religious leaders (Male) session regarding importance of gir’ls education, gender-based violence and social cohesion between Afghan refugees and host communities.
  • Advocate community members for the importance of education within the targeted communities.
  • Facilitate program team to encourage school enrolment campaign especially for girls, and Afghan refugees.
  • Raise awareness about GBV and its negative impacts within the communities.
  • Organize activities that foster positive interaction and understanding between Afghan refugees and host communities.
  • Represent Organization on live radio talk shows focusing on topics relevant to the target audience.
  • Assist Project Officer COM for preparing the annual community mobilization plan for catchment areas, keeping in view the needs of the community and by means acceptable to the community required for identification and selection of potential program participants both for formal  education program.
  • Assist Project Officers for planning and implementing community-based activities of program.
  • Establishing a network of community leaders, members, groups, and committees for increased attendance in communities gathering and religious leaders’ sessions (Male.
  • Assist Project Officer COM for arranging monthly awareness sessions both men and women.
  • Responsible to coordinate and develop partnerships with local CBOs and NGOs for improving community mobilization.
  • Assist CMO to organize the activities of World Refugee Day and 16 Days of Activism activities both at schools and communities.
  • Assist Project Officers Education for identification and selection of 200 students from both Afghan refugees and hosting communities to re-enrol in the project focused public schools each year as per the selection criteria.
  • Assist Project Officer to take data of enrolment, dropouts, attendance, and results and share with DMO regularly on prescribed template.
  • Follow all ORGANIZATION SOPs on Safety and Security while conducting the activities in the assigned areas of catchment of Population Schools, mosques / community/ ORGANIZATION office)
  • Attend all refresher training sessions and meetings with other members of the project as required.
  • Conduct him/herself professionally and personally in such a manner to bring credit to Organization and in no way jeopardize its humanitarian efforts.

  • Reports Directly To: Project Officer Community Outreach and Mobilization
  • Works Directly With: The Education teams and in close coordination with the Project team, MEL Unit, Administration, HR and Finance team.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field. Excellent communication and persuasive abilities. Strong listening skills. Minimum of two years of relevant experience in mobilization skills, preferably in the NGO sector. Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications. Fluency in written and spoken English, Urdu, and local languages. Demonstrated understanding of complex emergencies, related security concerns and appropriate responses with experience in insecure environments. Demonstrated attention to detail, following procedures, meeting deadlines, and working and problem-solving independently and cooperatively. Effective verbal and written communication and experience of Microsoft Office applications.
