At AFH Pakistan, we are looking for a Partnership Development Officer to join us in our newly established Pakistan office in Islamabad. You will join us on a full-time basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary which is negotiable depending on experience.

Job Purpose:

To support the Country Director of AFH Pakistan in driving the organization's growth through proactive management and coordination of institutional funding and strategic partnerships. The role holder will be responsible for securing funding and developing strong relationships with institutional donors, trusts, foundations, and the corporate sector in Pakistan.

Key responsibilities:

1. Partnership Development Strategy & Planning (25%)

  • Lead the development and implementation of Partnership Development strategy to enhance AFH Pakistan’s ability to attract funding from diverse sources while ensuring coordination across fundraising efforts.
  • Proactively develop and maintain strong donor relationships, gaining a deep understanding of donor priorities and strategies to align funding opportunities with programmatic goals.
  • Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with key institutional donors, particularly the UN agencies, FCDO, Global Affairs Canada, GIZ, GGP Japan and the Corporate sector organisations in Pakistan

2. Proposal Development (35%)

  • Support and facilitate the AFH Pakistan programmes’ department in planning, coordinating, and developing high-quality concept papers and project proposals (both humanitarian and development-focused) to secure funding from various donor agencies.
  • Coordinate with Implementing partners to ensure that all project proposals and reports meet donor requirements and are submitted in a timely and high-quality manner.

3. Contract Management (25%)

  • Provide effective support to programmes and finance teams in managing a portfolio of existing contracts, ensuring full compliance with donor requirements.
  • Analyse donor guidelines and provide expert advice to programme teams on funding requirements, compliance, and reporting obligations.
  • Assist the Country Director in the training and mentoring of programme and finance staff on core contract management skills, including proposal/report development and donor relationship management, to enhance internal capacity.

4. Due Diligence Documentation and donor mapping (10%)

  • Maintain and regularly update all governance and due diligence documents required for engagement with institutional donors and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all policies and manuals are comprehensive, effective, and meet stakeholders’ requirements for due diligence and capacity assessments.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive donor database, ensuring up-to-date records of donor organizations mainly institutional donors, funding cycles and donor priorities.

5. Capacity Building (5%)

  • Strengthen the expertise and capacity of the programmes and finance staff on donor priorities, proposal development, reporting formats, and project cycle management.
  • Conduct visits to project sites and support implementing partners on proposal development, donor engagement, and contract management processes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, International Relations, Project Management or relevant field.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the development sector of Pakistan.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian and development work.

Languages

Strong written and spoken English.
