Role Outline:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee the construction of Early Childhood Education (ECE) classrooms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project management, with a focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will collaborate with a diverse team of architects, contractors, educators, and stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of ECE classroom construction projects that provide safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environments for young children.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for the construction of ECE classrooms. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure the timely progression of construction activities while adhering to budget constraints.
- Establish and enforce quality standards for construction materials, workmanship, and safety measures to ensure that the ECE classrooms meet or exceed regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Identify potential risks and challenges in the construction process, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor the implementation of these strategies to minimize disruptions to the project.
- Maintain clear and open communication with all project stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, parents, and community members. Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and any changes to project scope or timeline.
- Ensure that all necessary permits, approvals, and inspections are obtained from relevant regulatory authorities. Maintain compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Monitor project expenditures against the approved budget, track cost variances, and make necessary adjustments to ensure fiscal responsibility throughout the construction process.
- Handle changes to project scope, objectives, or requirements by assessing their potential impact on the project's timeline, budget, and quality. Make informed decisions and communicate changes effectively to the project team.
- Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, which may include construction professionals, contractors, subcontractors, and consultants. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and other relevant records. Generate comprehensive reports for stakeholders as required
Skills Set:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and the capacity to deal with financial complexities.
- Approaches work with enthusiasm and a good, productive attitude on a regular basis.
- Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision to obtain optimal results.
- Exceptional coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication and commitment are required to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or master's degree in a related field.
- Minimum working experience of 5 years.
- Familiarity with Early Childhood Education facilities' design and construction requirements is a plus.
- Proven experience in project management.
- Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
- Budget management experience.
