A National Level NGO engaged in advocacy, campaigning, community mobilization, research, networking, challenging anti poor policies, plans and actions at local, national and international level with different coalitions. Since its inception, covered at least 22 districts of Balochistan and has worked to ensure a peaceful and secure environment within communities. The main Goal is to eliminate poverty and violence from society by means of encouraging human rights and civic education culture.
Job Overview/Summary:
The Content Writer will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and engaging content that supports communication strategies and enhances the visibility of projects. This position will involve developing easy-to-understand messaging, writing compelling copy, and ensuring that content aligns with the goals of advocacy efforts, policy initiatives, and organizational programs. The Content Writer will collaborate with various teams to produce high-quality materials that are tailored for diverse audiences, ensuring effective communication both internally and externally.
Major Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with project teams to understand communication goals and target audiences.
- Develop content strategies that align with program objectives, ensuring clear and effective messaging.
- Craft content that resonates with different audiences, including policymakers, local communities, donors, and internal teams.
- Content Creation and Writing:
- Write clear, compelling, and easy-to-understand content for various mediums, including reports, newsletters, website copy, blogs, social media posts, and policy briefs.
- Produce content that simplifies complex topics, ensuring accessibility to both technical and non-technical readers.
- Tailor messaging to diverse audiences, making sure all content is engaging, informative, and aligned with the organization's goals.
- Project Visibility and Promotion:
- Enhance the visibility of projects through well-crafted content that showcases program impacts, success stories, and key messages.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to create visually appealing content that supports communication efforts.
- Support in the development of promotional materials for events, conferences, and other project-related activities.
- Content Review and Editing:
- Review and edit content to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and clarity.
- Proofread content for grammar, style, tone, and consistency.
- Ensure content is in line with the organization's voice and branding guidelines.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, such as program managers and subject matter experts, to gather content inputs and insights.
- Communicate research findings, project updates, and impact assessments clearly to both internal and external audiences.
- Assist in preparing content for donor reporting, proposals, and other fundraising initiatives.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including research, policy, and advocacy teams, to ensure content supports broader organizational goals.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for content improvement and innovation.
- Act as a liaison between teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in messaging.
- Monitoring and Evaluation Support:
- Assist in gathering feedback on content effectiveness and reach to help improve future communication strategies.
- Track engagement metrics and adjust content strategy based on audience response.
- Training and Capacity Building:
- Provide guidance and support to junior content writers or interns on writing and content best practices.
- Stay updated on trends in content writing, digital marketing, and communication strategies to enhance personal and team capabilities.
Job Specification:
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in content writing, journalism, or communications, preferably in an NGO, development, or advocacy setting.
- Experience in writing for diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Writing Skills: Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content tailored for various audiences.
- Content Strategy: Experience in developing and executing content strategies that align with organizational goals and project objectives.
- Research and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear and engaging way.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple content creation projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners, ensuring seamless content production.
- Attention to Detail: Strong proofreading and editing skills with attention to grammar, style, and consistency.
- Digital Literacy: Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms, and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is an asset.
