The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is a non-profit organization founded by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982 to improve the quality of life for local village communities, primarily in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.

AKRSP is seeking applications from highly qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Climate Resilience Specialist (Female): Core Office, Gilgit

Job Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement strategies for interventions to enhance climate resilience, mitigation and adaptation efforts across projects and programs.

Requirements:

·       Education: Master’s degree (preferably from a foreign university) in environmental science, climate science, or a related field.

·       Experience: The candidate must have 5 years of relevant experience in climate resilience planning, mitigation, and adaptation strategies, or related fields, with a track record of successful project implementation.

·       Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, climate assessment tools, data management, knowledge of climate resilience frameworks and methodologies, relevant regulations, and report/proposal writing.

·       JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

ü  Facilitate communities in identification of potential projects, writing concept notes.

ü  Undertake surveys, prepare implementation plan of the projects.

ü  Support multidisciplinary teams with implementation of climate adaptation and mitigation strategies related to green infrastructure, natural resource management, infrastructure, climate smart and regenerative agriculture etc.

ü  Prepare proposal, reports, presentations, graphics, and other high-quality communication materials.

ü  Conduct climate risk assessments utilizing world recognized/standard tools.

ü  Conduct environmental impact (EIA) for proposed projects to identify potential environmental risks and propose mitigation measures.

ü  Prepare comprehensive reports on environmental performance and compliances for internal and external stakeholders information.

ü  Assist technical leaders/project managers with a variety of project tasks.

ü  Coordinate integrating climate resilience on large multi-disciplinary projects.

ü  Prepare progress reports and profiles of the projects.

ü  Will make  sure that the records/data of the projects at the community level ,regional office and core office level are  maintained as per the requirements of donors and AKRSP.

ü  Attend and help facilitate stakeholder and community meetings.

ü  Perform other related work as required.
