Community Resource Person (CRP)

Community Resource Persons (CRPs) are frontline community workers engaged in implementing social and behavior change communication (SBCC) activities to promote HPV vaccine uptake at community level. They work closely with community members in mosques, hujras, schools, and other local venues to raise awareness, address misconceptions, and encourage acceptance of vaccination.

Locations: Bhimber / Kotli ISB / Mirpur (3 CRPs per district)

Functional Key Role: Implements SBCC activities at community level

Reporting Line manager:  District Community Engagement officer

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct CBCC activities and awareness sessions as per culturally acceptable community settings e-g in mosques, hujras, and schools by using approved IEC materials.
  • Support in Mobilization of adolescent girls (9-14 years), parents, and caregivers for vaccination (HPV).
  • Identify and refer vaccine-hesitant families to EPI (Expanded Programme on Immunization) centers for counseling & follow up.
  • Train and support volunteers, teachers, and religious leaders to deliver SBCC messages in community sensitization efforts e-g by sharing the fatwas or endorsements from the local muftis on the vaccination permissibility.
  • Create and manage the WhatsApp groups for volunteers to coordinate field activities.
  • Participate in training sessions to build capacity for effective communication and community outreach.
  • Contribute to community forums and coordination meetings to support vaccination initiatives.
  • Disseminate IEC materials and use approved messaging to counter misinformation.
  • Report regularly on community feedback, challenges, and outreach progress
  • Supervise volunteers and submit weekly reports on outreach progress and challenges.
  • Cover the targeted UCs in the selected districts of AJK with monthly SBCC activities.

Required Education:

  • Minimum Intermediate (FA/FSc) qualification is required.
  • Maximum bachelor or master's degree in Social Sciences, Education, Public Health.

Experience:

  • At least 2 year of experience in community mobilization, health promotion, or volunteer engagement.
  • Prior experience working in public health or awareness campaigns, especially related to vaccination or maternal/child health, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local community structures, customs, and social norms in AJK (Bhimber / Kotli / Mirpur) is essential.

 Skills :

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse community members including religious leaders, parents, and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) concepts and practices.
  • Ability to conduct community sessions in culturally appropriate and sensitive ways.
  • Basic reporting and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in using WhatsApp and basic smartphone applications for coordination and official communication.
  • Ability to manage and supervise volunteers effectively.
  • Flexibility to travel within assigned Union Councils and districts.
  • Local residency or strong ties to the community in the respective district (Bhimber / Kotli / Mirpur) is highly desirable.

 Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in local languages/dialects of AJK is mandatory.
