Vacancy Announcement for Project Officers in District Khanewal for its Inclusive Eye Health Project funded by Sightsavers

Civil Society Human & Institutional Development Programme (CHIP) is a value led organization that has made its mark in the development sector all over Pakistan.  We are looking for enthusiastic/energetic candidate for the above 02 position with following requirements:

Education

Master’s degree in Social Sciences, public health, Inclusive education or development studies

Experience

Minimum 03 years of experience in the social sectorparticularly in health, inclusion and community development

PositionRequirements

  •     Strong understanding of community engagement and mobilization techniques.
  •     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse community members.
  •     Prior experience in organizing health camps or community outreach initiatives is desirable.
  •     Knowledge of disability rights and inclusive practices
  •     Proficiency in local languages and dialects spoken in district Khanewal
  •     Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  •     Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results/targets within specified timelines.

Major Terms of Reference

Raise Awareness:

  • Create awareness among communities in all tehsils of district Khanewal about eye health and available services.
  • Disseminate information about eye health services to the communities.

Community Mobilization:

  • Mobilize communities to avail eye health services at the district level.
  • Establish self-help groups at the community level to engage vulnerable and marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, in accessing eye health services.

Inclusive Health Services:

  • Identify persons with disabilities and marginalized groups, including transgender individuals, to ensure their access to inclusive eye health services.
  • Organize eye health camps, ensuring active participation of persons with disabilities and marginalized groups.
  • Assist referred cataract and refractive error patients in visiting LRBT (Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust) for treatment.

Follow-up and Data Management:

  • Ensure three follow-ups of patients through individual-based closed contacts.
  • Compile and maintain comprehensive data on camps, patients, and project activities.

Beneficiary Support:

  • Identify and document case studies of beneficiaries supported during the project.
  • Assist persons with disabilities in obtaining disability cards and special CNICs, facilitating the process through social welfare and NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority).
  • Identify persons with disabilities and provide them with necessary assistive devices.

Monitoring and Logistics:

  • Monitor health facilities' ongoing accessibility work in district Khanewal.
  • Arrange logistics for all project activities.
  • Financial Compliance and Coordination:
  • Identify and coordinate with vendors, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
  • Liaise and coordinate with district authorities and stakeholders for seamless project activities.
  • Ensure the functioning of the district committee and coordinate its activities related to the project.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Submit regular field reports and data and activity-based means of verification on time, on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare detailed activity reports and monthly reports.
  • Develop work plans for project activities and submit them promptly.
