Position Description:
The overall objective is to lead and give strategic direction to the communications team while developing communications and marketing strategies and plans that cover the full mix of communications and marketing tools, including media and public relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, direct marketing, digital and social media and production of materials. It requires implementing a marketing and communications strategy to build brand awareness, market services, communicate programs, their activities, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a ‘brand guardian’ ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications
- To develop and ensure the effective implementation of marketing, fundraising and communications strategy of Local Ngo.
- Report on and analyze all aspects of communications and marketing and ensure effective evaluation mechanisms are in place to measure success.
- Manage creation of all marketing collateral (annual reports, newsletters, presentations, website and social media content, videos and photographs etc) and manage deployment across a variety of communication platforms within an annual budget
- To lead, line manage and support (including carrying out regular supervision and appraisals) of the Fundraising & Communications team
- To ensure effective and successful marketing and communications plans are in place for all aspects of the organization’s programs and activities,
- To lead, manage and plan key organizational marketing and communications initiatives
- To carry out market research and needs analysis on Local Ngo’s key audiences with respect to fundraising and donations.
- To be responsible for brand management, including brand awareness and adherence to brand and organizational identity guidelines.
- To oversee the design, production and dissemination of marketing and communications collateral, as required.
- To ensure the implementation, operation, monitoring and review of the organization’s digital strategy, including website maintenance and development.
- Be responsible for the organization’s media, outreach, PR, and networking, ensuring appropriate strategies and plans are in place.
- To ensure the accurate and compliant collection and use of personal information and data on supporters, donors, and potential audiences.
- To review and develop mechanisms for improved internal communications to staff in regions.
- To participate in staff training, organization/team meetings and events, as required.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirement
Qualification:
- Master’s in Mass Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related field with minimum 5 years of experience of working in a senior role within a not-for-profit marketing and communications environment, with a proven track record of successful marketing and communications campaigns and activity.
Skill Set:
- Excellent and engaging communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to devise, implement and develop long-term plans and strategies.
- Leadership skills
- Ability to think strategically and creatively regarding the long-term development of an organization’s marketing and communications work.
