Under the overall supervision of Chief of Mission and direct supervision of Emergency Health Officer, and in close coordination with related partners, the Lady Health Visitor/Migration Health Nurse will be responsible for smooth running of medical mobile team operations.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Provide general assistance with the daily nursing activities in the assigned health facility in the areas of: Medical examinations; such as checking vital signs, weight, height, visual acuity; and, Blood, urine or sputum collection as required.
  • Support Infection prevention and control mechanisms;
  • Support documentation, certification and information transmission;
  • Transport of samples to the laboratory in a proper and safe manner;
  • Provide support and general information to the migrants and/or refugees in relation to: Health Promotion, Good dietary habits, lifestyle modification, smoking cessation, compliance to medication
  • Support proper and accurate record keeping of applicants throughout the migration health assessment process, including uploading medical reports on the required databases.
  • Assist in attending ante-natal/ post natal examination
  • Prepare list of medical drugs and supplies for ordering as requested by the Migration Health Physician or Migration Health Nurse, assist in inventory taking
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma/LHV Course with 3 years of experience
  • Or
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent or Higher certification with 1 year of relevant experience.

Expertise:

  • Effectively applies and transfers relevant technical knowledge and practices to personnel and laboratory operations.
  • Proven supervisory, organizational and planning skills
  • Good computer knowledge and skills, particularly in MS Office with good understanding of data collection and analysis for monitoring and continuous improvement of laboratory services and performance
  • Excellent awareness of the laboratory role in health systems, optimal use of resources for quality and efficient services delivery

Languages:

  • Good command of English and Fluency in Urdu is required (oral and written).        

Advantageous:

  • Working knowledge of other regional languages.
