Summary:

Background information: USAID’s Power Sector Improvement Activity (PSIA) is supporting the Government of Pakistan’s (GoP’s) efforts to increase the financial viability, reliability, and affordability of the power system in Pakistan. Over a four-year period, from January 2022 to September 2025, USAID’s PSIA will support and facilitate Pakistan’s transition to a competitive power market, while also improving operations of its transmission and distribution systems and optimizing the use of its grid electricity through increased electrification. PSIA will focus on engaging the private sector as well as Pakistani and regional stakeholders and will channel resources through three objectives.

This RFA is being floated for identification of activities in partnership with local organizations through grant assistance under Objective 3 of PSIA, as mentioned in the attached RFA.

RFA along with Application and Budget templates, the requirements for eligibility, and complete submission details, are as attached, and is open to all qualified bidders/applicants who have relevant experience and expertise. 

Deadline and Method for submission of application:

Questions regarding the technical or administrative requirements of this RFA may be submitted no later than 05:00 PM Pakistan Time, February 10, 2023, via email to [email protected]. Questions must be submitted in writing; phone calls will not be accepted.

The application package will be submitted by the applicants by uploading and sending the documents electronically (in MS Word, Excel, and PDF) to an email address ([email protected]).

The applications will be sent directly to Mr. Muhammad Amad Farooq (PSIA Grants Administrator) at his email address ([email protected]) for inclusion in the review process starting after the RFA deadline.

The deadline for submission of applications for grants under this RFA will be close-of-business (i.e., no later than 05:00 PM Pakistan Time) on February 28, 2023.
