Job Description

Background 

A leading national NGO is planning to hire competent and experienced Social Mobilisers both male and female for two districts i.e. Chakwal and Vehari of Punjab Province. This project is funded by an INGO with a title “Improving access to disability specific CNICs and social protection schemes”.

 1. Purpose of the Position:

Social Mobilizer/s will be responsible for implementation of community mobilization and empowerment strategy through organizing communities specially person with disabilities at revenue village and Union Council level. The position holder is required to take lead in arrangement of capacity building activities of different community structure formed under the CBID Programme. These structures include Disable People Organization (DPOs), Self Help Groups, Community Committees, District Forums etc.

 2. Main Responsibilities

• Community mobilization and organization through awareness raising, and close coordination with communities.
• Formation of SHG, Community Committees and Community forums through participatory approach while ensuring participation of person with disabilities
• Conduct awareness raising sessions in the communities about key topic the project is working on.
• Facilitate training sessions for identified community groups.
• Providing assistance to Project Manager and Monitoring and Evaluation officer in documenting key lesson learnt and human-interest stories
• Coordination with key community stakeholders specially person with disabilities and their representative groups.
• Strong coordination with primary stakeholders i.e. NADRA offices, Social Welfare Department and Government Training Institutes etc.
• Introduce project in the communities and ensuring active participation of persons with disabilities in the project interventions at field level.
• Identification and assessment of beneficiaries for the assistance provided by project

 Education: 

• Maters in Social Sciences from a reputable and recognized university. 

Experience:

• Five years’ related work experience in community mobilization and sensitization.
• Knowledge about Social Mobilization tools, methodologies and processes.
• Fluency in local languages i.e. Punjabi is essential, local candidates will be preferred from concern project districts.
• Have strong ability to communicate effectively with good interpersonal skills
• Basic computer literate
• The successful candidate will require to sign different policy documents of the commissioning NGO including e.g. Safeguarding policy, PSEA code of conduct etc.
