Position Objective:

Restoring family links of the persons separated due to emergencies/disasters and to provide them the RFL services, referring them to the appropriate institutions/organizations, who may be able to fulfil their needs

Program Background

Every year, thousands of family members are separated by disasters, migration and other emergencies. People suffer terribly when they lose contact with their loved ones and do not know where they are or whether they are safe.

Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC), with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies work together around the world to locate people and put them back in contact with their relatives. This work, referred to as Restoring Family Links (RFL), includes looking for family members, restoring contact and reuniting families and seeking to clarify the fate of those who are still unaccounted for.

PRC is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy based in its state Headquarter in Muzaffarabad.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

Restoring Family Links (RFL):

  1.  

Implement, supervise and monitor the program activities as per LFA

       2. 

Take active part in the national and regional level discussions through working groups, webinars, meetings and discussions

       3. 

Plan, organize and conduct capacity building trainings/workshops for PRC staff and volunteers

       4.

Liaison and networking, with government and non-governmental organizations

       5. 

Prepare regular, timely and accurate progress reports e.g Monthly Narrative, Financial & monitoring reports and share with all concerned

       6.

Conduct RFL activities in case of any Disaster/ Armed conflict

MANAGEMENT

  1.  

Provide coaching and supervision whenever needed to the provincial staff and volunteers involved in the implementation of RFL activities

       2.

Setting priorities and deadlines, organizing the work, assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring achievements and performances

       3.

Keeping PRC superiors duly and timely informed of the activities or/and any operational development

       4. 

Ensure that the activities are carried out in line with the allocated budget

INTERNAL

  1.  

Keeping accurate records of activities

       2.

Timely share the RFL cases follow ups, reports, minutes of meeting with NHQ.

       3.

Participating in the RFL coordination and planning meetings and propose changes for improvements if needed

EXTERNAL

  1.  

Identifying and maintaining contacts with relevant stakeholders

        2.

Build and maintain contacts and represent the PRC with relevant authorities, explain RFL activities in the region and provide necessary information when needed

Minimum required qualification & experience:

  • Masters/16 years of education in social sciences
  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience in programme planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • Ability to work in a complex situations and capable of managing team work during emergencies
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Urdu
  • Good computer skills
  • Good knowledge of the geographical and social setting of AJK.
  • Good communication skills

The above position demands flexibility (frequent trips to the field) and the ability to work under pressure.

The position will be working under the administrative supervision of PRCS AJK and technical supervision of Program Manager at PRCS for the Restoring Family Links Program supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The applicant must be the citizen of AJ&K.
