Overview and objectives of the role:

Palladium Pakistan is Private Limited Company registered with the Security Exchange commission of Pakistan since2015. The Tax Accountant will primarily support/Assist in day-to-day financial transactions, dealing with bank, and accounting and admin matters for Palladium Pakistan (Pvt) Limited. This role is also responsible for corporate accounting and taxation. Assist in liaison with taxation departments and corporate Law authorities in Pakistan is required. This role is directly reporting to CEO.

Key Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks 

Finance:

  • Responsible for all day-to-day corporate accounting activities.
  • Consolidation and analysis of corporate financial data, focusing on levels of expenditure. Monitoring budget profiling versus actual. Review and analyse variances on a monthly basis and its subsequent reporting.
  • Preparation of management fee sales tax invoice on monthly basis.
  • Payroll reconciliation on monthly basis.
  • Preparation and approval of Payroll agent’s invoice for advance payroll processing every month.
  • Preparation of all corporate payment vouchers (payment processing), hard filing of vouchers and record maintenance of finance.
  • Booking of Journal Vouchers and Payment Vouchers in the Quick Books consolidating all project expenses on accrual basis.
  • Preparation of corporate field voucher on weekly basis.
  • Preparation and submission of income tax summary and payment on weekly basis of all projects and corporate to ensure the compliance u/s 165.
  • Preparation and submission of sales tax summary and payment on monthly basis of all projects and corporate to ensure the tax compliance u/s 26(1).
  • Ensure quarterly submission of Income tax return u/s 165.
  • Ensure quarterly payment to advance tax u/s 147.
  • Coordination with the vendors, consultants regarding complete details about invoices paid and tax deducted, sharing of tax challans with respect of the tax deducted.
  • Ensure provision and remittance of all statutory and mandatory deductions and Pakistan law, and submission of tax to the authorities.
  • Responsible for working and complete supporting documents for tax notices and reply to FBR and coordination with tax auditor for tax notices
  • Coordination with internal and external auditors for corporate audit.
  • Prepare Bank reconciliation on weekly basis and manage all correspondence with banks in respect of bank statements.
  • Ensure that all the cash/cheque payment vouchers are supported by the relevant supporting documents and attend to all Auditors correspondence/queries;

Supporting audits:

  • Assist in the cash/cheque payment vouchers are supported by the relevant supporting documents and provide support to respond to Auditors’ correspondence/queries.
  • Support audits by coordinating with external auditors' in Corporate and Project audits to provide requested documentation and information.

Other project Finances:

  • Support other projects in payments, payroll and field voucher reporting.

Corporate accounting:

  • Maintain Employees’ provident fund
  • Disbursement of final settlements of employees
  • Filling of Income tax return and withholding tax statement of Provident Fund
  • Annual audit of Provident Fund
  • Coordination with Provident fund banks for bank statements

Coordination:

  • Coordination with Government agencies on corporate compliance.
  • Performing any other task as delegated by the supervisor.

Key selection Attributes:

  • Articles completed from a reputed Firm of Chartered Accountants with 2 years of taxation and accounting experience in a company /MBA finance and accounting with 2 years of experience in Income tax and Sales tax along with accounting experience.
  • 2 years of experience of relevant experience along with updated knowledge income tax and sales tax
  • Expertise in QuickBooks enterprise accounting software is a must.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and power point presentations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in English,
  • Team player
  • Ability to multi-tasking and meet tight deadlines.
