Background

PODA is a women right NGO working for the promotion and protection of human rights in rural areas of Pakistan, rights-based programming, and advocacy for inclusive democratic society. Our current programs include climate change education, women’s rights advocacy, and constitutional rights education. PODA under the auspices of its project “Reduce Early Marriages to Enhance Gender Equality”, funded by Royal Norwegian Embassy, Islamabad is committed to promoting comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education in rural communities and schools. As part of our ongoing Project “Reduce Early marriage to enhance gender equality, awareness and understanding of SRHR among Parents, Communities, teachers and students from Grade 7 to Grade 12, we are seeking professional consultant to design and deliver SRHR training sessions.

Objective

The objective of this consultancy is to develop and conduct SRHR training programs for rural communities, school teachers, and students from Grade 7 to Grade 12. The consultant will deliver age-appropriate and culturally sensitive training sessions that promote knowledge, skills, and attitudes conducive to responsible sexual behavior and informed decision-making.

Scope of Work/Deliverables

1. Training Program Development:
• Develop comprehensive SRHR training modules developed for:
• Rural community members (parents, guardians, community leaders).
• School teachers (Grade 7 to Grade 12).
• Students (Grade 7 to Grade 12), ensuring age-appropriate content.
• Include topics such as:
• Puberty and changes.
• Family Planning
• Preventing STIs and HIV/AIDS.
• Gender equality and rights.
• Legal frameworks related to SRHR.
2. Training Delivery:
• Conduct interactive and participatory training sessions in rural communities and schools .
• Train school teachers on effective methods for delivering SRHR education to students.
• Engage students in workshops, discussions, and activities that promote understanding and critical thinking on SRHR topics.   How to engage?? specify
• Provide guidance on integrating SRHR into the existing school curriculum.  To whom he will provide guidance
3. Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Develop pre-and post-training assessments to measure knowledge gain and attitude changes.
• Monitor the implementation of SRHR training in schools and communities.
• Collect feedback from participants for continuous improvement.

Timeline:

The tentative timeline for the consultancy is 1^st May 2024 to 30 Nov 2025 This includes the preparation phase, training sessions, and submission of the final report

Qualifications

The consultant should possess the following qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Public Health, Gender Studies, Education, or related field.
• Extensive experience (at least 5 years) in designing and delivering SRHR education programs.
• In-depth knowledge of SRHR issues, especially in rural contexts.
• Experience working with schools, teachers, and youth populations.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop culturally sensitive and age-appropriate educational materials.

Budget

The budget for this consultancy is Rs 150,000, per Month  inclusive of all expenses such as travel, accommodation, materials, and consultant fees. The payment schedule will be mutually agreed upon based on deliverables.
