A national not-for-profit organization is seeking the services of the following staff for a donor-funded project. The details are as under
Job Title: Education Officer
No of Positions 01 Female
Duty Station: Peshawar and Charsadda
Reporting Line: Programme Manager
Job Status: Fixed Term Contract
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interaction and periodic coordination with relevant Education authorities, DC offices, line departments, and other stakeholders for effective planning and implementation of agreed activities at the district.
- Identification of OSC (out of school children) in the catchment area of selected schools/established ECE/CLP centres.
- Monitor and provide support in formation /activation, training of PTCs and development of SIP at school level.
- Provide support in local engagement with community for social mobilization activities around selected schools encouraging parents to enrol children in schools and Allama Iqbal Open University .
- Collect and compile district level information of each selected school for ensuring delivery of school supplies and its documentation in a timely manner.
- Identify protentional trainees for TEVT centres in respective districts i.e. Charsadda and Peshawar.
- Support district level trouble-shooting in the field.
- Interact with WASH Engineering Teams for organizing preparatory work, and monitoring of school level development activities.
- Prepare and submit periodic progress reports (daily, weekly and monthly) in-line with the DIP to respective supervisor.
- Keep proper record of completed activities.
- Conduct surveys, assessment and data analysis, as and when needed.
- Refer students and parents to resources outside the school for additional support.
- Facilitate extracurricular activities in schools and learning centres under the approved grant, such as sports, arts and crafts, cultural events, to enhance students' overall learning experience.
- Identify and report possible cases of neglect or abuse.
- Carry out other relevant tasks as and when assigned by respective supervisor;
Required Competencies:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education/ Social Sciences or equivalent in the related subject.
Experience: At least 3 years of proven relevant experience in Education Projects /Community Mobilization.
Skills:
- Excellent command over English is essential (written and oral).
- Good listening skills, ability to deal with stressful and challenging situations, very autonomous and able to manage criticism and self-evaluation;
- Result-oriented, proactive and creative person able to adjust quickly to cross-cultural work environment and personalities.
- Excellent computer literacy/Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word and Excell)/ SPSS.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated and proven track record of high standards of attendance, punctuality, enthusiasm, vitality, and optimism in approaching and completing tasks.
Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to listen, understand and communicate non-violently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
- Able to coordinate and draft quality reports in a timely manner.
