TERMS OF REFERENCE
GIS Officer
Reporting to: Manager GIS Lab, (Technical) and Project Coordinator (Administrative)
Grade/Title: C 3[Equivalent]
Duty Station: Gilgit with frequent traveling across Gilgit-Baltistan
Employment Contract: Long Term
Work Week: 5 days (Monday through Friday) - 40 hrs /week
Work Hours: 0830 hrs to 1715 hrs (with 45 minutes lunch & prayer break)

JOB SUMMARY
Under overall guidance and supervision of Director North, Manager GIS Lab, and Project Coordinator the Geographic Information System Officer, will the position will be responsible for assisting the project Coordinator /KfW team in the day-to-day implementation activities in the KfW project in Gilgit Region.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop GIS and Remote Sensing-based science work and GIS- based maps of the KfW and other project of the GB region.
- Develop a comprehensive GIS based survey of all the project areas, plantation patches/plots, irrigation channels, irrigated fields, marginal lands brought under vegetation, hydropower etc.
- Monitor the change of activities through GIS, remote sensing and online available satellite images under the KfW and other projects of GB.
- Prepare the land use maps and results matrix monitoring and reporting according to the template mentioned the project documents.
- Ensure timely delivery of tasks/assignments of the projects.
- Liaison with stakeholders/partners/project communities for timely delivery and active participation in field, where needed.
- Prepare the presentation/s and assist to project lead in delivering presentations to stakeholders.
- Support to organize events and capacity building workshops in field with project team.
- Accomplish any other tasks apart from the ToRs assigned by the Director North, Manager GIS, WWF-Pakistan, and Project Coordinator.
- Prepare field, technical reports and ensure their timely submission to the Supervisor.
- Maintain all the project related data in hard and soft form.
- Handover all the project related data to the office management.
SELECTION CRITERIA QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Four years Degree (or equivalent) in RS & GIS, or Geography, Natural Sciences with a special focus/certification in GIS andremote sensing techniques.

Good at applications of MS Office, ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, computer hardware & software.

Advanced skills in Remote Sensing, working with Landsat/Sentinel and other satellite imageries.

At least 01-02 years of work experience in implementation of community projects

Previous relevant experience with WWF-Pakistan will be preferred
