Job Summary

The Trainer – Cooking & Baking (Theory) will be responsible for delivering structured theoretical training. The role focuses on building foundational knowledge of cooking and baking concepts, food safety, hygiene, nutrition, and workplace readiness, enabling trainees to understand professional kitchen practices and prepare for practical training and employment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver theory-based sessions in cooking and baking as per the approved project curriculum.
2. Develop and share a detailed theory training plan, session outlines, and lesson objectives prior to the start of classes.
3. Teach core concepts including food safety and hygiene, nutrition basics, kitchen terminology, tools and equipment, ingredients, and baking principles.
4. Use interactive teaching methods such as discussions, presentations, quizzes, and case studies to engage trainees.
5. Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate knowledge gain.
6. Maintain class records, assessment results, and basic trainee documentation.
7. Mark and submit daily attendance records as per project requirements.
8. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment aligned with Donor's safeguarding principles.
9. Coordinate with project and center management to ensure smooth implementation of theory classes.
10. Collect trainee feedback and share recommendations for improving training quality.
11. Prepare and submit a brief end-of-training report summarizing outcomes, challenges, and key observations.
12. Comply with organizational policies, project guidelines, and reporting requirements.
13. Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by management during the contract period.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts, Cooking & Baking, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching or industry experience.
• Experience in delivering theory-based or classroom training will be preferred.
• Good communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to deliver structured content within a short project timeframe.
