Job Description

 

Title: Finance Officer

Reporting to: Finance/Admin Manager 

Duty Station: Head Office Islamabad

Unit: Operations

Summary of Key Functions

 

      The Finance Officer position will support the Finance/Admin Manager to run the financial systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donor’s rules and regulations, and legal requirements to support high-quality programs serving the vulnerable. He will help coordinate daily financial activities through the duties outlined below.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Overall financial management of the organization under direct super vision of Finance/Admin Manager.
  • Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers etc.
  • Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records for projects and for the organization.
  • Review of all the financial documents before payments and submitting to Admin/Finance Manager for approval and payments.
  • Review of Payrolls, tax and EOBI deductions of payrolls and making sure that all the salaries are disbursed timely to the respective accounts of staff.
  • Maintenance of the financial software of the organization and ensuring all the data relevant to all projects has been posted timely and accurately in the software.
  • Preparing and extracting reports from the financial software as per the need.
  • Monitor the expenditures on quarterly basis to ensure that programme funds are utilized appropriately.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements Assist in preparation of all financial reports and its timely submission to donors and senior management of Inspire Pakistan. Provide financial inputs for proposal development, project management, Human Resource Management policies, logistics, travel and other areas of administration.
  • Checking of All Grant Payment Requests before sharing it with Admin/Finance Manager for review.
  • Assist in preparation of annual accounts.
  • Assist in preparation of organizational and projects budgets.
  • Ensure effective cost control measures are undertaken.
  • Facilitate in carrying out financial audit of the organization.
  • Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization as well as the H.O of Inspire Pakistan.
  • Ensuring that all the taxes and EOBI are properly deducted and paid to the government authorities.
  • Provision of tax data to Tax consultant for submission of withholding statements and annual return.
  • Liaise with Bank. Responsible to deal all the accounts of the organization and settles all matter of bank Assist with project finance related work as required.
  • Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor.
