Job Purpose

The Trainer for the Travel and Tourism Manager course will be responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions to participants under the Donor Prime Minister Youth Program. The trainer will equip students with the skills, knowledge, and competencies required to excel in the travel and tourism industry, ensuring alignment with the curriculum approved by Donor and the standards of Organization. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions based on the Donor-approved Travel and Tourism Manager curriculum.
  • Design and adapt course content to meet the needs of participants and industry requirements.
  • Ensure the complete coverage of course content within the allotted training timeframe.
  • Use a variety of training methods, including lectures, practical demonstrations, group discussions, and case studies.
  • Develop and share a comprehensive Training/Study Plan for implementation.
  • Ensure the training content aligns with the approved syllabus and meets industry standards.
  • Manage resources, including training materials, facilities, and equipment, to ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Focus on developing participants technical and soft skills, including customer service, itinerary planning, tour management, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Train participants in the use of relevant travel and tourism software and tools.
  • Prepare and facilitate pre-training, post-training, and final evaluation papers.
  • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate participants progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Develop tools and methods to evaluate the program’s effectiveness and outcomes. Monitor training quality and assess participant performance regularly.
  • Maintain detailed records of attendance, performance, and assessments.
  • Review trainee attendance daily, follow up on absentees, and provide feedback to the Training Officer.
  • Maintain hard and soft copies of relevant training documents, including evaluation sheets and attendance records.
  • Share current trends, challenges, and opportunities in the travel and tourism industry to enhance participants knowledge.
  • Provide administrative support, including organizing schedules, exams, and important events/functions.
  • Assist program staff in planning and executing events such as certificate distribution ceremonies, awareness sessions, and job fairs.
  • Collaborate with Donor officials, training institutes, and industry representatives to ensure program success. Build partnerships with travel agencies, hotels, and other tourism-related businesses for internships and placements.
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the Regional Coordinator.
  • Document success stories and best practices for project reporting.
  • Work closely with the Organizations team to ensure smooth execution of the program.
  • Provide input to improve course delivery and participant outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality Management, or a related field. 
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry.
  • Prior experience in training or teaching is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of travel operations, tourism management, and customer service.
  • Familiarity with travel booking systems, itinerary planning, and tour operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant industry software.
