Since its establishment in 2005, CARE Pakistan (CP) has been responding to major disasters and undertaking an array of development projects. CP works through its local partners and a range of stakeholders for development, as well as emergency response-related interventions, which makes collaboration a key component of its work, across the country.

Internship Objective

Consistent with the CIP’s culture to promote and foster a learning environment, the internship program is designed to provide a limited number of undergraduate/graduate individuals with opportunities to obtain practical work experience. Interns will be closely working with the relevant department of CIP on a full-time basis, in Islamabad Office. The incumbents are expected to collaborate with all CARE Pakistan field offices and CO staff.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in Documentation and Record-Keeping: Ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping for shipments, inventory, and other logistics-related information. The intern will assist in organizing data in excel and filing system.
  • Support Order Processing: Processing and tracking orders from vendors, suppliers, or internal departments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support Transportation/Fleet Coordination: Assisting in coordinating among fleet members, arranging pick-up and delivery, and tracking shipments' progress.
  • Warehouse Operations Support: Assisting in warehouse operations, such as organizing and optimizing storage space, handling inbound and outbound shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
  • Data Entry and Analysis: Entering data related to logistics operations into computer systems and maintaining accurate records of inventory and shipments. Assist in data entry, preparing reports and presentations.
  • Assist in Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Communicating with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, track orders, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Working with other departments such as procurement, finance to ensure smooth logistics operations and effective communication.
  • Assisting with Inventory Management: The intern will be involved in tracking and managing inventory levels, conducting stock counts, and ensuring accuracy in inventory records.
  • Ad-hoc Work: Assisting with other ad hoc work as assigned by the Line Manager.
      • Assist in packing, labeling, and organizing office equipment, furniture, and supplies.
      • Help with the relocation of inventory items to their designated areas.
      • Ensure all items are properly labeled and categorized.
      • Perform inventory checks to ensure all items are accounted for.
      • Provide general administrative support as needed.

 

A) Qualification (Know/How)

Education & Training:

  • Minimum Bachelors/ in Business Administration or related field ( Fresh graduate)

B) Technical Skills/Competencies

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Excellent written and spoken English, Urdu.

Competencies:
