Purpose of the Role & Key Responsibilities
The Training Officer will play a pivotal role in designing, organizing, and delivering capacity-building initiatives for project stakeholders, including government officials, community representatives, and implementing partners. The officer will ensure that training content is context-specific, relevant, and aligned with the project’s objectives to enhance preparedness and response capabilities.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Disaster Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in training, capacity building, or knowledge-sharing roles, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Proven expertise in developing and delivering training programs using participatory methodologies.
- Familiarity with drought preparedness, anticipatory actions, and WASH interventions.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Deliverables
- Training needs assessment report.
- Comprehensive training materials and modules developed for stakeholders.
- Successful delivery of planned training sessions, with documentation of participant feedback and outcomes.
- Final report summarizing training activities, lessons learned, and recommendations.
