U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for Human Resources Assistant (Support) position in U.S. Embassy, Islamabad, Pakistan.
Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent manages or assists with a variety of human resources functions at post, that include Locally Employed (LE) Staff services, as well as American personnel services. Assists with preparations for employee awards program. Prepare for the awards ceremony by printing certificates, drafting the programs, and arranging for refreshments and other logistics. Assists with processing of Official Residence Expenses (ORE) staff agreements and annual salary increase actions as recommended by the Ambassador/Deputy Chief of Mission. Responsible to extracting information from various automated and written files to generate a variety of recurring reports and statistical data for the HR section. Drafts cables, HR correspondence such as letters, memos, simple management notices, etc. Creates and maintains electronic OPFs. Manages files in accordance with USG retention and destruction guidelines. Assists HR team with projects, as required in preparing personnel actions, performance management, training, supporting recruitment activities, assisting with American personnel services, awards program, etc.
Qualification Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in human resources or administrative field is required.
Education: Completion of college or university studies (14 years of education) is required.
Job Knowledge: Must have good working knowledge of human resources functions, as they apply to compensation, retirement, medical, and other phases of personnel management. Should be able to attain good knowledge of USG policies, regulations, and procedures. Should be able to gain good working knowledge of compensation policies, FSN handbook, State Department and associated agency Personnel manuals and regulations. Should be able to familiar with recruitment and employment regulations for American employees.
Language: Good working knowledge of Reading/Writing/Speaking in English and Urdu are required. English language skills may be tested.
Skills And Abilities: The incumbent is required to have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, and Internet). Should have excellent customer service and communication skills to manage in-person and telephone contacts. Must be organized, diligent and able to work under pressure. Should have good interpersonal relationships and regular keyboarding skills. Skills and abilities may be tested.
