Position Summary:
The position is responsible for community mobilization, assisting beneficiary assessment and ensuring smooth Cash disbursement to beneficiaries. The position holder will work under direct supervision of District Manager/ Project Coordinator and will report as per the project reporting requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare activity implementation plan and discuss the required resources to undertake the activity
- Ensure the community participation related project activities
- Form / re-organize Community Based organizations (CBOs) male/female
- Conduct Village mapping/profiling through different PRA tools (i.e. is BBCMs, Mapping/profile, conflict resolution wealth ranking etc.
- Mobilize community and orient project and organizations' mandate
- Work with community members to map and prioritize community needs
- Identify and organize appropriate capacity building, and technical resources to support project implementation.
- Ensure efficient and effective implementation of Food Security, Livelihoods and WASH related interventions at community level.
- Write regular weekly, monthly and other reports (as per suggestion and need)
- Facilitation and support in conducting the awareness sessions
- Mobilize community groups, sensitize and train them on specific topics as required, organized and facilitate meetings.
- Follow the Social Mobilization guidelines and implement it at community level as per the organizational policy.
- Perform other duties as requested by the line supervisor
- Prepare daily field visit reports after commencing the visit in the field
- Prepare and submit weekly progress report well on time
- Prepare any other reports when required/asked by the supervisor
- Actively participate in staff meetings
Skills
Qualification & Experience:
- Graduation in any field of social sciences, community health or related fields.
- Good level of spoken and written Sindhi and local languages.
- Excellent behavior change communication and counseling skills.
- Excellent skills in organizing workflow, capacity to follow protocols and take own initiative.
- Excellent ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work in an environment where there are physical discomforts associated with change in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust or dirt.
Skills and Proficiencies:
- Ability and willingness to autonomously travel to duty site/ health facility and villages when required.
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to work/distribution sites
- Excellent spoken and written local language /Urdu and English language skills
- Good computer skills – ability to write weekly and monthly reports and data analysis
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
