Project Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for managing the execution of all activities under UNFPA – GBV. This includes, but not limited to, planning multisectoral meetings (all administrative and logistic requirements and processes are followed) , meeting reports are developed and sent for approvals, ensuring deadlines and activities, are on track. Given the nature of the project, the Assistant Project Manager will also be responsible for developing and strengthening the relationship between Pathfinder International and relevant stakeholders identified during the project, including all coordination and communication regarding alliance building, endorsements for communication products, while also providing strategic support when developing these products and strategies.

Key Performance Area

Strategic Leadership

Provides strategic direction, develops, and updates the project implementation plan to ensure alignment with programmatic directions and priorities.

Project Implementation

Ensures that project performance objectives and mandated deliverables such as technical activities, annual work plans and programmatic/financial/technical reports are carried out in a timely fashion, meet the highest quality standards according to donor's requirements and procedures.

Advocacy and Planning Implementation

Leads advocacy efforts of Pathfinder for incorporating gender-based violence in health services Establishes communication among other organizations, especially multisectoral groups, to ensure an informed and coordinated response to policies, and continued government support and engagement.

Financial & Administrative Operations

Oversees implementation of administrative and financial operations to ensure compliance with Pathfinder International’s policy and contract provisions. Develops, monitors, and revises budget pipeline and conducts monthly reviews to ensure accountability of all project activities as well as the accurate and timely reporting of deliverables.

Minimum Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in social sciences, public health and related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of prior experience in delivering Gender Base Violation / public health projects in a leadership position, including the timely implementation and reporting of donor-funded program activities in the health sector.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in managing change across a broad group of stakeholders in an inclusive manner; knowledge of Pakistan’s public health systems and knowledge of the political, social, economic, and cultural context of working globally
  • Well-versed in family planning and reproductive health principles, practices, and services of programs, including program strategies and indicators, and the latest professional developments in SRHR, including special challenges and measurement issues faced in the developing world.

Preferred Education & Work Experience

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in social sciences, public health and related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of prior experience in delivering Gender Base Violation / public health projects in a leadership position, including the timely implementation and reporting of donor-funded program activities in the health sector
  • Prior Experience working on climate change projects will be of added value

  • Advocacy: Advanced advocacy skills with advocacy assignments and tasks in the development sector projects.
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Services: Advanced knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices and services of assigned program, including program strategies and indicators.
  • Gender Responsiveness: Foundational knowledge of gender responsive policies, services and areas of integration that can be optimized
  • Presentation and Facilitation Skills; Ability to present to large and small groups. Ability to lead in facilitating meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently or as a member of the team, ability to be detailed-oriented and consistently accurate, ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment, and ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures and adapt local practices to global standards.
