CARE is a leading global humanitarian and development organization. Since its establishment in 2005, CARE Pakistan (CP) has been responding to major disasters and undertaking an array of development projects. CP works through its local partners and a range of stakeholders for development, as well as emergency response-related interventions, which makes collaboration a key component of its work, across the country. Health and education, with a particular focus on women, are some of CARE’s core identified program areas in Pakistan, as part of its Long-Range Strategic Plan. CARE Pakistan is going to implement a project, “Improved Nutrition Status of Mothers and Children” in district Sujawal, Sindh, to sustainably address malnutrition and its immediate, underlying, and basic contributing factors, through integrated (Nutrition, WASH, and Education) interventions in the project area.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks

1- Data Management Systems (60% of time)
  • With the technical support of the MEAL Officer, develop data management systems, tools, and processes for data collection that meet CARE Pakistan requirements.
  • Design/recommend appropriate software/databases for record keeping of various programs.
  • Make sure each of the project indicators has relevant assessment and data collection tools with relevant databases. The SADD (Sex, Age, Disability Disaggregated) principle is followed for all data collected.
  • Collect daily data from the field using appropriate means available.
  • Update the database on a daily basis for all project modalities/indicators.
  • Conduct data audit every quarter to assess the quality and correctness of the data reported from the field.
  • Compile, share, and update field staff on data analysis reports.
  • Aggregate data received from the field by computer processing using CARE standard and other approved formats; ensure that compilation is free of error by preparing plan versus actual.
  • Ensure that the summarized data meets the donor and CARE requirements, and display a comparison matrix of the project by modality and partner performance on key project indicators.
  • Maintain project files and other material at Care International and ensure that the files are up to date, maintained in order and have summary contents to ease access to needed documents both in soft as well as hard form.

2- Data Analysis (35% of time)

  • Ensure that the data management system is functional and provides timely analysis for the Project Manager.
  • Ensure that primary analysis helps the project staff and senior management to detect possible falls from facts.
  • Ensure that the reports generated are in proper standard formats, data is correct and accurate.
  • Summarize and sort progress and monitoring data by area, sector, location, partners’ projects, project type (emergency/development) donors, Gender, and other specifications to best contribute to appropriate analysis and decision-making.
  • Participate in the process of final interpretation of the progress and monitoring reports to assist the management make evidence-based decisions. Crosscheck interpretations to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide help and support for the project management tool.

3- Other responsibilities as assigned (5% of time)

  • Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational and programming needs as assigned by the Line Manager.

A) Qualifications (Know How)

Required

The minimum qualification requirement is Intermadiate (completion). A bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Computer Sciences will be desirable.

B) Experience/ Technical Skills 

A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience with national/ international NGOs.

  • Skill and experience of managing & analyzing databases related to the social sector.
  • Language proficiency in written and spoken English, knowledge of local languages would be desirable.
  • Interpersonal communication and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated technical ability and sound judgment to work effectively with others at all levels.
  • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, participatory approach and sustainable development.
  • Practical experience of working on MS Excel and Access
