Purpose

The Light Vehicles Driver transports people and goods in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with ICRC rules and regulations and national traffic laws.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Drives light vehicles to transport people and/or materials in strict adherence to internal security rules and national traffic laws.
2. Constantly monitors security conditions on the road.
3. Ensures that goods are stored inside the vehicle according to local, international, and ICRC safety standards (attachment and distribution of goods, etc.).
4. Checks the assigned vehicle(s)' equipment, general functioning, and body condition and ensures that it is kept fuelled and clean inside and out.
5. Checks that trips have been authorized where necessary.
6. Immediately reports accidents, defects, and/or missing equipment to management.

Main Requirements:

1. Secondary school diploma.
2. Driving license (LTV) held for at least five years.
3. Three (03) years of relevant experience, preferably in the Humanitarian sector.
4. Automobile maintenance experience (oil checks, changing tires, etc.).
5. Basic knowledge of mechanics.  
6. Good knowledge of the area of assignment.
7. Knowledge of spoken and written English
