Introduction:
The Population Council under Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) funded Delivering Accelerated Family Planning in Pakistan (DAFPAK) programme intends to hire Population Research & Data Analysts as part of the technical assistance in establishing a delivery unit to monitor the roadmap for Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The positions will be based in Lahore at the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) of Punjab.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To work on the UHC Services Coverage Index in Punjab, focusing on Family planning service coverage and delivery.
  • To coordinate and liaise with the UHC implementation roadmap team to develop and update the roadmap aligned with the Department's 5-year health sector priorities especially to provide universal family planning services.
  • To liaise with the Data Governance embedded TA team (including DHIS 2 and EMR) to ensure the Delivery Unit can identify areas of data quality improvement.
  • To liaise with population welfare and other government departments engaged in UHC-population related activities to create synergies and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • To support the Department of Health in the process of use of data for evidence-based decision-making, performance and accountability.
  • To provide regular updates on the progress of work to the Population Council team and visit the Islamabad office for quarterly learning sessions.
  • Perform any other task related to Population Roadmap assigned by the Secretary P&SHD and/or the Population Council.

Qualifications/ Key Expertise:

  • The candidates must have a Master’s degree or a BS/B.Sc. (Hons) in Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or Public Policy or an MBBS degree from a highly reputed university. 
  • They must have 2-7 years relevant experience in any well-reputed national or international health organisation. 
  • Prior working knowledge of performing data analytics and visualization using Excel, SPSS, or STATA will be strongly preferred. 
  • The candidate must have skills to generate complex data insights and a proficiency in preparing presentations using PowerPoint.
