Job Description:
Cook responsibilities: (60%)
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare foods to the specifications & dietary requirements of the guests
• Dress the dishes for a great presentation
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Clean kitchen and food preparation areas, including counters, stovetops, and refrigerator, to ensure they are hygienic.
• Properly store all food and other items
• Monitor stock and place orders for re-stocking the kitchen
• Estimate expected food consumption and organizes preparation
• Keep records and accounts of food purchases
• Work well as a team with other kitchen staff
• Perform any other related duties as assigned
Caretaker responsibilities (40%)
• Responsible for looking after USEFP guesthouse property, asset, and the guests.
• Meets and greets the guests
• Prevents unauthorized personnel from entering or damaging the property.
• Reports & coordinates general repairs & reports various occurrences such as power outages, sewerage issues and other minor maintenance
• Ensures that the premises is clean and free of hazardous materials.
• Assists and helps out janitorial staff to ensure appropriate cleaning, dusting, vacuum cleaning, lawn mopping, fence & hedges maintenance and disposal of waste material/garbage on regular basis.
• Takes and maintains delivered items and dispatch goods and materials as instructed.
• Manages laundry, bedsheets, curtains etc through the vendor.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned from time to time
Experience:
Three to Five years of relevant experience preferably with an international organization or a four-star hotel as a chef. Good experience as a care taker of a medium sized property
Other requirements:
• Proficient in cooking Pakistani, continental and Chinese food
• Experience of baking & grilling
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize & prepare food for large gatherings, functions and official events
• Familiar with culinary art and ability to use kitchen equipment
• Able to perform kitchen and cooking related tasks including grocery & stock management
• Familiarity with general maintenance and repair works
• Ability to multi-task and help janitorial staff
• Must be able to read and write Urdu language & be able to understand basic instructions given in English language
• Proven experience of dealing with foreigners and guests
• Good understanding of and ability to maintain health and hygiene standards & sanitation procedures
• Reliable and dependable with good team working skills
• Good physical health, personal hygiene and stamina
• Well-mannered, courteous and groomed individual
• Must be able to provide at least two reliable & verifiable references from the most recent/current employment
