Position Objectives:

Under the overall technical support of DD DM (DRR) & supervision of PDMM the District SSO will be responsible to ensure efficient and effective implementation of School Safety Programme (SSP) activities using the trained volunteers.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

1

Function as a focal person at your respective district  regarding the program implementation.

Develop and maintain close coordination with District Administration, Education department, I/NGOs and other relevant stakeholders.

Coordination, liasoning & rapport building with the school authorities to ensure their support

4

Mobilization of the volunteers & establishment of youth club

5

To spread awareness on disaster risk reduction and safer schools by imparting Trainings, conduct of risk mapping, preparation of school risk reduction maps

Support the school staff and children in developing sessions plans on School Safety and facilitate evacuation drills and simulation exercises to school children, teachers and school safety committees.

Ensure periodic monitoring of all SSP activities in targeted schools.

Provide quality reports including activity reports, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on PRCS Standard formats as per agreed deadlines.

Responsible to follow up of key challenges, suggested solutions and case studies reflecting good practices on regular basis.

Ensure timely submission of expenditure details along with complete required documentations for finance settlement.

Maintain database of JYCs, SSCs and ERTs and will update it as per need

Ensure participation in regular coordination meetings at district level and provide updates on PRCS SSP activities and seek support where needed.

Perform other duties and functions as may be given by the line manager from time to time

 

Education

Masters/ 16 years education in Social Science/ Management or in relevant field from HEC recognized Institute / University.

Experience

Minimum 3 - 4 years Post Qualification experience in implementation of school safety and disaster management related projects.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Fluency in spoken and written in English, Urdu
  • Skills in team building and developing staff capacities
