Position Objective:

Supply Chain Specialist will provide technical support to the Infectious Diseases Planning & Development Unit at Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination in Islamabad on supply chain activities related to infectious diseases screening, diagnostic and treatment products.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Forecasting and Supply Planning of infectious disease screening, diagnostic and treatment products.
  2. Develop SOPs/guidelines to ensure proper storage of infectious disease products at all tiers of supply chain as per global standards. 
  3. Develop key logistics indicators to be incorporated in the integrated infectious disease information dashboards and ensure regular reporting by the public sector. 
  4. Prepare regular reports on commodity security of infectious disease products for different tiers of field operations.
  5. Ensure regular reporting of infectious disease logistics data in  in the Management Information System to improve health logistics data reporting, data visibility and data quality.
  6. Provide technical assistance in capacity building of the public and private sector relevant staff on real time reporting.
  7. Prepare periodic analytical reports by collating services and logistics indicators on infectious diseases.
  8. Assist provincial infectious disease program in procurement of infectious diseases screening, diagnostic and treatment products.
  9. Coordinate with private sector pharmaceutical companies producing infectious disease diagnostic and treatment products.
  10. Validate the data quality and reconcile data from daily registers for data entry into infectious diseases Management Information System on daily basis.
  11. Provide technical assistance on Supply Chain Management of infectious disease products.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the principal duties.

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management/MBA or other disciplines of Social Sceinces. Post Graduate degree with majors in aforementioned fields will be highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the areas of supply chain management;
  • Experience of working in a health-related project will be preferred
  • Command on Logistics Management Information Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills               
  • Fluency in English required

This long-term position will be based in Islamabad.

Supervision

The position will report directly to the Director Vaccine Preventable Diseases.

Note: Scope of work can be changed as per the advice by the donor.
