About the role

The Fleet Foreman at Pak Mission Society plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of the organization's diverse fleet. Tasked with overseeing a range of vehicles vital to the success of our mission, the Fleet Foreman is responsible for implementing and optimizing fleet management strategies. By developing and enforcing rigorous maintenance schedules, coordinating vehicle assignments, and promoting compliance with safety and environmental regulations, the Fleet Foreman contributes significantly to the efficiency and reliability of our transportation.

About the Project

The project seeks to improve the livelihood, protection, freedom and rights of the People We Serve (PWS) including vulnerable protection cases, persons who are Forcibly Displaced or FDPs through RISE approach. The Project RISE (Revitalize, Innovate, Strengthen and Empower) will foster market versed, innovative, locally evolved livelihood avenues for 300 Forcibly Displaced Persons (FDPs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Carpet weaving is the flourishing area for the Home-based businesses (HBBs) in all Afghan Refugees Villages and Urban Clusters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which will be added to contribution in the expansion of the business model. Inclusion is the focus area involving and engaging women and persons who are differently abled in the existing entrepreneurial eco-system. Innovation and digitalization of the carpet weaving industry will be taken into consideration by featuring a Baseline and Market Assessment considering the upstream and downstream value chain of carpet making ecosystem and training the youth especially women in graphic designing, website development and social media handles to complete the product loop from development to marketing. 

Your impactful goals will include

  • Manage and oversee the fleet, including but not limited to cars, vans, trucks, and specialized vehicles.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management policies and procedures in alignment with the organization's mission and values.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand and prioritize transportation needs, ensuring that the fleet adequately supports programmatic activities.
  • Evaluate, select, and negotiate with vendors, including mechanics, suppliers, and service providers, to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards, and address any issues promptly to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to fleet operations, such as fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance, and use insights to make informed decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in fleet management to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as government authorities, insurance providers, and automotive industry professionals, to stay informed about regulatory changes and industry developments.
  • Implement and enforce a robust driver training program, emphasizing safety, defensive driving techniques, and adherence to traffic rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the fleet budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and fiscal responsibility.
  • Implement and manage a system for documenting and reporting fleet-related incidents, accidents, and repairs, and use this information to make strategic decisions for fleet optimization.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of fleet maintenance staff, providing constructive feedback, identifying training needs, and promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Foster a culture of environmental sustainability within the fleet operations, exploring and implementing eco-friendly initiatives such as alternative fuels and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, providing guidance and support to address any disruptions in fleet operations.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management, detailing key performance indicators, budget adherence, and recommendations for improvements in fleet efficiency.
  • Ensure that all vehicles in the fleet are properly licensed, registered, and insured, and that all required documentation is up to date. 

What we are looking for:

Education & Knowledge

  • Degree in automotive engineering or a related field. 

Work Experience

  • 3 to 4 years of Proven experience in fleet management.

Functional Competencies/Skills

  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental standards.
  • Knowledge of Automotive maintenance.
