ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing complex technical projects efficiently. This role involves leading cross-functional technical teams, managing project budgets and timelines, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions.

• Oversight of developmental projects falling in diverse areas of Computing, AI, Aerospace, and Communication Systems.

• Planning, execution and coordination of all project activities adopting Agile project Management methodology

• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop comprehensive project plans, including detailed technical requirements, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.

• Lead and guide cross-functional technical teams, including developers, engineers, and specialists. Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure team members understand their roles and responsibilities.

• Possess a deep understanding of the technical aspects of the project, including software development, hardware integration, or other specialized fields. Provide guidance and expertise to the project team as needed.

• Identify and analyze technical project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions. Continuously monitor and address technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.

• Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses related to technology resources, tools, and equipment. Ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.

• Create and maintain project schedules with a focus on technical milestones. Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure on-time project delivery.

• Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, specifications, and technical manuals.

• Maintain clear and open communication with stakeholders, providing regular technical project status updates, reports, and addressing any technical issues or concerns.

• Ensure that technical project deliverables meet quality standards, are scalable, and align with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.

• Manage technical project scope, including assessing and approving technical changes while preventing scope creep.

• Collaborate with technology vendors and suppliers, as needed, to ensure the timely delivery of technical components within project parameters.

• Evaluate technical project performance and outcomes, identify areas for technical improvement, and implement best practices for future projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Ph.D / MS (DSP, RADAR etc – Communication, Aerospace, IT) with 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in DSP systems research, design & development of RADAR systems for civil and/or military applications.

• He / She will be responsible for managing and guiding the research and design & development activities for GP- SAR.

• Proficiency in at least one Project Management tool (Redmine, Primavera, Microsoft Project etc)

PREFERRED SKILLS

• PMI or other recognized Project Management Certifications (PMP, Google Project Management Certification etc)

• Proven experience as Project Manager or Technical Team Leads or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of project management principles and regulations.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in technical, financial and management aspects.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent software, Google Docs etc)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

• Management experience / lead role in large scale technical projects

• Demonstrable hands-on experience with Project Management tools & best practices

• Experience of working in/with Public Sector projects (ministries / public sector R&D organizations, armed forces, academia etc)

• Management role in a PSDP project 

ADDITIONAL NOTES

• The hired individual will be on a 2‐3-month probationary period. Final appointment will be confirmed after satisfactory performance in this period.
