Grant support for establishment of High Value Vegetable Production through Walk-in Tunnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and its Newly Merged Districts (NMDs)

 

The USAID’s funded Economic Recovery and Development Activity (USAID-ERDA) is a five-year activity implemented by Associates in Development (AiD) Pvt Ltd. The USAID-ERDA aims to increase economic opportunities by strengthening and modernizing the agriculture sector and promoting micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its Newly Merged Districts (NMDs).

USAID-ERDA under its agriculture component plans to establish high values vegetable production through walk-in tunnels in tehsil of district Bajaur (Tehsil Utman Khel), Mohmand (Tehsil Safi) and Khyber (Tehsil Bara). USAID-ERDA will provide in kind support for the installation of 2 walk-in-tunnels each with (50x12x6.5) feet, inputs and technical assistance to selected applicants. A total of 150x2 walk-in-tunnels will be established in the mentioned districts.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

-       Applicants must have (owned or leased) a minimum of 1-kanal agriculture land suitable for vegetable cultivation, and willing to cultivate vegetables under walk-in-tunnel technology.

-       The applicants must have a valid CNIC of the respective district at the time of application.

-       The applicant must have prior farming experience.

-       The applicant must be willing to participate in ERDA’s training and capacity building activities, throughout production, harvest, post-harvest, and improved marketing operations.

-       Willing to share sales data and allow the ERDA team to conduct field days.

Note: Women, minorities, and applicants from other dis-advantaged communities are encouraged to apply if they meet the above criteria.

TYPE OF SUPPORT

  • In-kind Grant Support of up-to PKR 233,710 per grant.

  • Proof of land ownership / lease (where applicable)
  • Any other information / document supporting the application.
