Know our Team / Project

Nutrition International is embarking on a new three-year project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to support Government of Pakistan’s plans for the transition and scale up of Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) at national level.  This project blends Nutrition International's operational and technical expertise across the country, regional and headquarters. It builds on years of maternal nutrition programming both in Pakistan and across the globe while incorporating the skills sets of a diverse and dynamic group of technical experts.

At the request of GoP, Nutrition International will provide a seconded position to support the high-level coordination and capacity strengthening necessary within the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination (MoNHSR&C) – Nutrition Wing, facilitating the effective scale-up of MMS programming within Pakistan.

About you

Youare a Postgraduate in - public health, nutrition, medicine, health systems management, international development and/or a related field including medical degree.

You must have Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government policies and programs to address nutrition in Pakistan.

You should have an ability to effectively communicate, network and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders, especially national and district governments to achieve program objectives

Around 7 years experience in working with or within public health systems.

Fluency in English & Urdu is essential. And Knowledge of any regional languages like Pashtu, Sindhi, Baluchi, etc. is an advantage.

About the role

This position supports the National Project Manager and will be responsible for the oversight of implementation of project activities in five districts and specifically works with MoNHSR&C – nutrition wing to facilitate an effective scale- up of MMS programming. The position holder will be a subject matter specialist with experience working with government and national and provincial levels.

Under the guidance and supervision of the National Coordinator, Nutrition Wing, MoNHSRC and working with the National Project Manager and alongside the cross unit project team, you will be responsible to:

·         Review and finalize annual implementation plans in consultation with provincial and district-level government counterparts at the Nutrition Wing, MoNHSR&C.

  • Work with the Ministry to translate the developed national project plan into provincial and district plans that will facilitate planning of project activities across the four project enablers and support provincial cross-learning and buy-in. 
  • Support the program team in finalizing the TORs, RFP, review of proposals in coordination with nutrition wing, MoNHSRC.
  • In close coordination with MoNHSRC work with the Senior Project Manager and Senior Project Officer MEAL to generate evidence on feasibility of MMS to inform MMS Scale up recommendations and policy guidelines in Pakistan.
  • Support the design and review of the training curriculum/ manuals for In coordination with Nutrition Wing, MoNHSRC
  • Support in organizing meetings for rapid readiness assessments for provincial capacity strengthening for forecasting MMS and sourcing for future needs based on the findings.
