Community Legal Empowerment Lawyer for Multiple Districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP):

The Peace & Justice Network Pakistan is a national grassroots justice network working across Pakistan for enhancing community legal empowerment and access to justice and strengthening rule of law to foster peace and sustainable development. PJN's vision is for a peaceful, just, and inclusive society governed by laws where the rights of individuals are secure. For its Community Legal Empowerment Program, Peace & Justice Network (PJN) is building and equipping panel of community legal empowemrent lawyers to conduct sessions for legal empowerment of the local communities by providing them with legal knowledge and awareness so that they able to understand and protect their legal rights. These programs aim to increase access to justice, promote social justice, and address various legal issues that affect communities.

PJN is looking for a dynamic legal professional (3 male lawyers and 3 female lawyers) with minimum 5 years of court practice for conducting community legal awareness clinics in following 7 Districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:

1. Peshawar,
2. Kohat,
3. Kurram,
4. Mardan,
5. Bajaur,
6. Khyber, and
7. Swat

The program will provide community members with legal education and awareness. This includes informing them about their rights and responsibilities under the law. It will buildi the legal knowledge and skills of community members, enabling them to navigate legal processes and systems effectively. The program is targeting poor, vulnerable or underserved populations who may face barriers to accessing the legal system. By empowering individuals and communities with legal knowledge and support, this program aim to promote social justice and foster a more equitable society.

Community Legal Empowerment Lawyer Position ToRs:

Community Lawyer will be responsible for:

• Conducting Community Legal Empowerment Clinics (3 - 4 hours session) to educate community members about their legal rights and responsibilities and to help people understand the relevant laws and regulations.
• Providing individuals participated in Clinics with legal advice tailored to their specific situations to help community members understand their options and make informed decisions regarding legal matters.
• Disseminating awareness material during the Clinics to educate the community about specific legal issues and rights.
• Guiding community members to advocate for themselves by providing them with the knowledge and tools to navigate the legal system independently during Clinics.
• Regularly assessing the impact of the program to ensure that it is meeting its objectives and making a positive difference in the community.

Peace & Justice Network will provide formal orientation session to the selected community legal empowerment lawyers for effectively and productively conducting community legal empowerment sessions for greater and sustainable impact.
