Purpose
The Weapon Contamination (WeC) Field Officer is responsible for implementing, supporting and monitoring of ICRC WeC Risk Awarness and Safer Behaviour (RASB) joint projects with Local Authorities and Institutions. S/he contributes directly to ensuring staff safety and the continuation of operations and helping vulnerable people where conventional weapons poses a hazard.
Main Responsibilities:
- Engages with relevant external partners on issues of conventional weapons and develops a partnership on Community and institutional-based RASB.
- Responsible for building the capacity of the national authorities through working closely with Counterparts/Focal persons and providing relevant coaching
- Provides contextual and dynamic analysis and reports events and changes within the context that could have an impact on the ICRC's activities, thereby providing sound elements that help the delegation to set objectives and priorities.
- Internally, interacts with other WeC team members and the staff from other departments (Assistance, Protection, Cooperation) on WeC-related matters.
- Contributes to assessing and analyzing the security, socio-economic, cultural, and political environment as relevant to the ICRC, and shares with relevant ICRC program/departments possible integration and synergies.

Main Requirements :
- University degree (preferably master’s degree) in social sciences or relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of overall professional experience, preferably in the Humanitarian sector
- Mine Action experience specifically in Risk Awareness and Safer Behaviour projects and programs, an advantage.
- Proven partnership-based project and programs’ management experience specifically with local and national authorities and institutions
- Experience in Training and event management is desirable
- Good Knowledge of Geographic areas (KP and Newly Merged Districts) is desirable
- Excellent analytics and report-writing skills
- Proficiency in computer skills (e.g. MS Office)
- Fluency in English & Urdu and knowledge of Pashtu is required
