Gender: Female
Position Objective: The LHV will be responsible for providing care under the direct supervision of Medical Officer at healthcare facility by ensuring patients receives adequate services during pregnancy and child birth, Family planning, provision of ANC/PNC services and neonatal resuscitation and postpartum follow up of women.
Relevant Experience: Diploma in nursing or midwife or registered Lady Health Visitor (LHV) from Government recognized Nursing Institute with a valid license to practice. Minimum 01 year of overall experience in relevant field
Job Description:
Mission 1: Planning and execution of Reproductive health and family planning activities
The Lady Health Visitor is responsible for:
- Patient examination and taking history especially antenatal and postnatal women and providing them antenatal card.
- Carry out nutritional assessment of women and children and refer sewer malnourished children and women to other organizations/department for further treatment/food supplement and keep proper record.
- Handle/manage uncomplicated deliveries
- Health education and counselling to woman, either individually or in groups at clinic and at field level with focus to family planning, danger sign during pregnancy, ANC/PNC, breastfeeding, balance diet.
- Giving injection, dressing and immunizations to woman and other patients.
- Regular field visits as required for health education session and facilitation at HCF and patients with focus to of malnourished children, antenatal and postnatal cases and giving health talks.
- Keeping the health unit’s birth registers, ANC/PNC, FP, OPD, PWDs and GBV.
- Provide and submit weekly reports of the activities/patients (general, antenatal, malnourished children, FP, ANC, PNC, Baby Deliveries, and DNC) to the office.
- Identify potentially complicated deliveries for early referral (previous scar in uterus, multiple gestation, severe pre-eclampsia, abnormal lie at term, poor obstetric history etc.) the nearest health care facility (referral letter)
- Promote the institutional delivery and keep record of the deliveries at health facility
- Participate in monthly/quarterly review and planning meetings
Mission 2: Network and coordinate with the relevant sectors
The Lady Health Visitor is responsible to:
- Establish good Relationship with the Taluka and UC authorities and Community leaders
- Establish a network with the other actors in the working area (I/NGOs and DOH)
- Establish linked and meetings with the Community Health workers at the CHC centers.
- Establish a good understanding of the program within the community.
- Inform ACF MO, Project Manager and Technical HODs for any Technical problems encountered
Mission 3: Additional Tasks:
The Lady Health Visitor is responsible for:

- Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender, Child Protection and other safeguarding policies
- Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens
- Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability
Skills Required:
- Diploma in nursing or midwife or registered Lady Health Visitor (LHV) from Government recognized Nursing Institute with a valid license to practice. Minimum 01 year of overall experience in relevant field in development sector
- Previous experience in same capacity in primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health, nutrition and communicable diseases preferable.
- Ability and willingness to travel to duty site/ health facility and villages when required.
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to work/distribution sites
- Excellent spoken and written local language /Urdu and English language skills Good interpersonal and communication skills Preference.
- Experience in closely working with DOH and Taluka/District HQ Hospitals and at health facility level is advantageous
- Previous experience working in clinical setting/CMAM is an asset
- Ability to prepare weekly and monthly program reports
- Candidates will be preferred who belong to ACF-intervention areas/UCs district
