Know our Team / Project
Nutrition International is embarking on a new three-year project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) to support Government of Pakistan’s plans for the transition and scale up of Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) at national level. This project blends Nutrition International's operational and technical expertise across the country, regional and headquarters. It builds on years of maternal nutrition programming both in Pakistan and across the globe.
Working together with the Project team, with support from the global Monitoring, Data and Learning team and Global Technical Services, this position will provide leadership to strengthen organizational and staff capacity to design and implement effective monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems to support Government of Pakistan’s plans for the transition and scale up of Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation at national level.
About you
Youare a Postgraduate in social development or equivalent with a bias in health and nutrition. You will come with the understanding of safeguarding and the associated MEAL requirements for safeguarding including but not limited to accountability mechanisms (i.e., Complaint and feedback mechanisms) to ensure accountability.
Around 7 years’ experience in program implementation, specifically MEAL responsibilities preferably in public health nutrition interventions. With at least 5 years’ experience of working in Pakistan in a similar role with a local and/or international organization.
Fluency in English is essential. And Knowledge of any regional languages like Pashtu, Sindhi, Baluchi, etc. is an advantage.
About the role
This position will be responsible for timely development and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) plans for the MMS project, including working with sub-partners and government to optimize/strengthen/streamline monitoring and reporting processes and ensure high-quality data is available and synthesized to support the project and decision-making with quality and in a timely manner. The MEAL Officer will be required to work with and analyze existing Government monitoring systems and project data alongside project specific monitoring.
In this role you will be responsible to:
· Develop a robust project MEAL plan to systematically collect, analyse, and use data and processes to capture progress throughout the project.
· Support MEAL capacity building for project team members on data collection, compilation, automation, and analysis.
· Under the guidance of HQ and Regional Office focal points, develop the Terms of Reference (ToR) to ensure timely commissioning, quality of outputs as well as completion.
· Onboard identified agencies/consultant(s) through inception meeting, oversee implementation of evaluations and surveys through field visits and reviews, and incorporate inputs from relevant internal and external stakeholders in the final report.
· Support the Project Manager in preparing donor reports and other internal program review reports with adequate data and analysis in liaison with MNHN Portfolio Monitoring, Data and Learning (MDL) focal point.
