Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Finance Manager for our client based in Canada. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing and enhancing the financial functions of the organization, with a keen understanding of local tax laws.

Here are the key responsibilities:

  • Assess and optimize the existing finance function, implementing necessary systems and controls in accordance with Canadian regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough financial forecasting, meticulously prepare budgets, and perform variance analysis, offering clear explanations for substantial deviations from budgeted values.
  • Prepare precise cash flow forecasts and adeptly manage working capital, taking into consideration the nuances of the Canadian financial landscape.
  • Monitor day-to-day financial operations, including payroll and bookkeeping, ensuring compliance with Canadian financial standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate GST/HST preparation and submission, adhering to the requirements of the Canadian tax system.
  • Proactively seek methods to minimize financial risk to the company, considering the specific tax implications of the Canadian market.
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives for both long-term and short-term decision-making, considering the Canadian financial and tax landscape.
  • Review financial data and prepare detailed monthly and annual reports, ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
  • Present financial reports in formal meetings to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients, with an understanding of the Canadian financial context.
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable Canadian financial reporting standards, tax rates, rules, and regulations to assess their impact on overall financial performance.
  • Understand and adhere to industry-related regulations and legislation in the Canadian context.
  • Generate monthly invoices for services provided to clients, considering Canadian billing practices.
