U.S. Mission Pakistan is seeking applications from qualified individuals for the Warehouse Worker (Truck Driver) position in U.S. Consulate General, Karachi.

Basic Function of the Position – A Warehouse Worker (Truck Driver) is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a U.S. Government-owned or leased trucks, large cargo vehicles or other vehicles. The incumbent is also responsible for safe handling, transporting and storage of both expendable and non-expendable items. The position is in the General Services Office and under the supervision of the expendable storekeeper.

Qualification Requirements:

Education: Completion of Secondary school certificate (10 years of education) is required.

Experience:  Minimum two (2) years of professional truck or heavy vehicle driving experience is required. In addition, one (1) year of experience in manual labor or warehouse work is also required.

Job Knowledge: The incumbent is required to have good working knowledge of warehouse operations, procedures, USG safety and security standards along with good working knowledge of maintenance and efficient usage of warehouse storage space. Good knowledge of conducting inventory and stacking of items/equipment as well as knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations, in-country travel routes and areas is required.

Skills And Abilities: The incumbent must have ability to physically perform loading and unloading of heavy objects smoothly and efficiently. Must be able to lift a maximum of 51 lbs. (23kg) under Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Must be able to use warehouse tools and safely operate equipment such as forklifts, hand trolleys, electronic lifters etc. The incumbent has ability to detect vehicle defects and report them immediately to concerned authorities. The incumbent must be able to perform assigned tasks in all types of weather, and environmental weather conditions to include at times severe cold, extreme heat, wet or dry weather conditions, and high winds. A valid Pakistani HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) driver's license is required. The applicants must show the proof of driver's license for a minimum of five years. Skills and abilities may be tested.
