An International humanitarian/development organization is looking for a Project lead Engineer - Emergency Schools to undertake the responsibility in CRWASH department

Reporting Line:                      Programme Coordinator, CRWASH 

Coordination:                         In-direct supervision of Country Programme Manager (HOP), Finance Manger, 

                                                Admin and HR Manager, Programme Officer (WASH)

Duty Station:                          Islamabad with at least 50% travel to project sites in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Responsible for the implementation of emergency school construction projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS:

1.    Planning, implementation, and quality assurance of emergency WASH programme activities:

  • Implement emergency program activities in accordance with adopted plans and budgets.

  • Provide support in preparation, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the assigned school building construction project.

  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, quality control policies, performance standards, and specifications.

  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and report regularly on project status.

  • Preparation of construction master schedule and ensuring implementation of target in schedule time and budget.

  • Coordination and networking with stakeholders at national and provincial levels.

  • Submit regular and timely monitoring reports with findings and recommendations.

  • Contribute in capacity building of partner’s staff.

  • Develop and evaluate the narrative and financial reports with implementing partners.

3.    Other duties

  • Maintain and further develop contacts with NCA partners, NGOs/other actors in civil society, government, and relevant international organizations/donors.

  • Conduct a bi-weekly Meeting with the Contractor/Partner, with minutes circulated to the Organization Management.

  • Keep close coordination with line department(s)

  • Assist the partner in the finalization of bi-weekly work schedules.

  • The position holder may be asked to perform other tasks by the Programme Coordinator and management.

Qualifications:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of experience in the implementation of emergency projects specifically physical infrastructure.

  • Previous working experience in National or International Non-Government Organizations will be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Understanding of the local context

  • Strong report writing skills.

  • Good coordination and networking skills

  • Able to travel to field areas on short notice.

  • Highly organized, a team player, pro-active and can demonstrate strong initiative and decision-making ability.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required - the ability to communicate and write in main local languages is required.

  • Strong skills in MS Office and other relevant applications
