Position Objectives:

The Deputy Director of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Shelter, and Construction plays a critical role in providing technical support for the planning, design, and implementation of programs related to water and sanitation, shelter, and construction within our organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective utilization of WASH and construction resources, coordinating with partners, and conducting monitoring visits to assess program effectiveness.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

Provide technical expertise and guidance in the planning, design, and implementation of WASH, shelter, and construction programs. Ensure that projects adhere to industry best practices and standards.

Oversee and manage WASH, shelter, and construction programs from conception to completion. Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with project teams.

Establish and maintain effective partnerships with other organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders involved in WASH, shelter, and construction activities. Collaborate closely to maximize resources and expertise.

Monitor and ensure the efficient utilization of resources for WASH and construction activities, including materials, equipment, and manpower.

Conduct regular monitoring visits to program sites to assess progress, quality, and impact. Prepare detailed post-visit reports and recommendations for improvements.

Provide technical guidance to field staff and WASH teams in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of WASH activities.

Implement quality control measures to ensure that all WASH and construction activities meet established standards and objectives.

Prepare comprehensive reports on WASH and construction activities, including progress, challenges, and achievements. Provide regular updates to the Director of Disaster Relief and Recovery.

Foster effective coordination among various teams and branches involved in WASH, shelter, and construction projects to achieve program goals.

Provide technical support and expertise in emergency response situations, particularly in the context of WASH and shelter needs.

Development and dissemination of technical guidance documents, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Any other task assigned by the Senior Management.

Education

• Master's degree/ 16 Years of Education in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in WASH, shelter, and construction management, including technical project oversight.
• Strong knowledge of WASH and construction best practices, industry standards, and regulations.
• Experience in partnership development and coordination.
• Proven experience in project management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
