Position Objectives:

To achieve the overall objective of the Gender Component incorporated into the Health & WASH Program

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

Contributes towards the overall goal and objectives of PRCS.

Works in line with the Red Cross and Red Crescent Principles.

Adheres to the Security rules and procedures & Respects and observe the Staff Rules & Regulations of PRCS.

Support gender-sensitive improvements to project tools and reporting.

The employee may be asked to perform duties and tasks assigned by the management as well as to provide support to other departments if so required.

To read and know the Minimum Standard Commitments on Gender and Diversity in Emergency Programming, and the PRCS Strategic Framework on Gender and Diversity Issues

To promote Gender and Diversity awareness amongst all staff, volunteers, and senior leaders and to assist in the capacity building of staff and volunteers to incorporate gender and diversity analysis into their daily work.

To further assist in mainstreaming gender and diversity in all the interventions   under Health and WASH program

09

Support, through training and individual subcommittee/working group discussions, the inclusion of a gender and diversity & PGI approach/strategy in all PRCS programs and projects.

To develop and run training / awareness-building sessions within existing projects

Ensure close collaboration and referral to specialized services through the participation of PGI-related working groups, and referral to quality services for people suffering incontinence or other health-related issues.

To actively participate and contribute to the working of National Society gender focal person at Headquarter level and provide feedback regarding activities updates and priorities.

To develop and strengthen local partnerships with gender and disability organizations.

To engage in peer-to-peer support by providing help to one another.

15

To be informed about opportunities to improve the status of women, girls, boys and men, including funding opportunities, partnership opportunities, and advocacy opportunities.

In close coordination with the Project Manager, ensure effective implementation of the Protection, Gender, and inclusion activities in the target locations.

Working very closely with the PRCS team to further strengthen the current gender policy and procedures, standard operating procedures, and other relevant tools.

Conduct and document gender and diversity / PGI analyses and assessments of PRCS operations and identify best practices.

Ensure to be informed about regular updates to the inter-agency referral pathways and to cascade this information to the volunteers while ensuring guiding principles of safety, respect, dignity, and do not harm are respected.

Increase awareness and understanding of CEA, its positive benefits, tools, and approaches in PRCS programming and operations, and work closely with the CEA department for CEA-PGI Correlation.

Responsible to submit progress reports and Gender-related data based on SADDD to PMER/Information and Reporting department.

Education

Master’s in social science / Gender Studies from HEC recognized Institute / University.

Experience

05 years of working experience in the Social or development Sector with at least 3 years in a Gender-specific position.  

Skills/Knowledge

  • Fluency in spoken and written in Urdu & English. Pashto speaking will be preferred
  • Work towards the achievement of PRCS Vision and long-term objectives
  • Good command on Microsoft Office (word, excel & power point)

Maximum age limit 40 Years
