FIELD MONITOR

Purpose:

-      To conduct on-ground monitoring of the Client's program activities, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

-      Conduct regular site visits as per the approved monitoring plan.

-      Collect relevant data through observations, interviews, and other monitoring tools.

-      Report any discrepancies, challenges, or areas of concern promptly.

-      Collaborate with the community to gather feedback and insights.

-      Document findings and submit them for further analysis and reporting.

-      Engage in both informed and uninformed monitoring visits to project sites.

-      Obtain and document community feedback on ongoing activities.

-      Contribute to Programmatic Monitoring visits as required.

-      Participate in FGDs to gather detailed insights from the field.

Qualifications:

-      Master in Social Science, MBA, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology

Experience & Essential Skills:

-      At least 05 years of prior experience in field monitoring or similar roles.

-      Strong observational and analytical skills.

-      Ability to interact with diverse community members and gather unbiased feedback.

-      Experience in conducting FGDs or similar community engagement activities.

-      Excellent intra-personal skills in dealing with IP staff, government officers, Client staff, and colleagues.

Proactive relationship building and fostering an environment of comfort, support, and harmony. Please note that the position is about Monitoring and NOT POLICING. Filed Monitors (FMs) contribute towards value maximization for Client’s programs ( usually implemented by IPs), and such value maximization is not about pointing fingers; it is about fact-finding and thus improving what can be improved.

-      Sound grip and excellent familiarity with generally accepted good practices in Monitoring.

-      Ability to observe and understand activities (for monitoring) with an open-minded, unbiased, and fact-based approach.

-      Excellent problem-solving skills.

-      Ability to work in a team and also work independently when required. Working in teams means trusting and respecting the views of colleagues.

-      Ability to take initiative.

-      Sound judgment and an ability to plan and organize fieldwork.
