Farmers Development Organization (FDO) is a registered entity, “A company set up under section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017”. FDO is working in the development sector since 1998, having Central Office in Multan. FDO is seeking potential staff for its new project ‘She feeds the World Program”, related to Agriculture and value chain development having integrated components of WASH  and Gender Mainstreaming in District Okara and Vehari against the following position.  

Gender and Inclusion Coordinator 

Primary Functions of the Job:

  • To support the Project Manager in the achievement of project objectives through the project team and ensuring the Gender mainstreaming and the inclusion in all the project activities.
  • To ensure gender considerations across all the project activities in collaboration with all project components through process monitoring, training, analysis, budgeting, and gender auditing that the interventions are gender responsive and transformative. And to ensure as a focal point, that safeguarding and enabling environment is taken care of at all levels from organizational level to community and stakeholders.
  1. 1.    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Assist Project Manager to develop and implement project plan.

Gender mainstreaming:

  1. The expert will assist in mainstreaming gender considerations into all project activities, policies, and strategies. This involves analyzing the project’s potential gender impact, identifying gender gaps and inequalities, and developing strategies to address.
  2. The gender expert will provide advice and guidance to project staff, stakeholders, and decision makers on incorporating gender perspectives into project planning, implementation, and monitoring. And will also provide recommendations on how to address gender-related challenges and maximize project outcomes by promoting gender equality and social inclusion.
  3. Gender expert will facilitate capacity building to all project team on gender sensitization to enhance the understanding and skills of project staff and stakeholders in gender-responsive programming to promote and foster gender sensitive project environment.
  4. Gender expert will develop training content on participatory HH decision making, advancing gender equality, social inclusion, creating enabling environment around women economic empowerment, and sharing unpaid care work and will conduct training for project staff, gender pars, VSLA and FFBS members.
  5. The gender expert will ensure that gender-sensitive indicators and target are integrated into the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework. They contribute to data collection, analysis and reporting on gender-related outcomes and impact to assess the project’s effectiveness in promoting gender equality.
  6. Review all the project documents and gauge the impact of intended results on power dynamics, diversity, social inclusion, gender equality, implementation strategies and ensuring gender considerations are incorporated.
  7. The gender expert will collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including women organization’s community leaders, and government to promote gender -responsive approaches and facilitate inclusive participation and meaningful engagement of different gender groups in decision making process.  
  8. Develop guidelines, including a check list for ensuring mainstreaming and social equality into strategic development to enable effective implementation of the SFtW program.
  9. Conduct a comprehensive gender analysis to understand the different roles, needs, and interest of women, men, girls, and boys who are affected by or involved in the project. Also to help identify potential gender-based barriers, biases and opportunities for promoting gender equality and women empowerment.

Coordination

  1. Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  2. Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to Manager.
  3. Effectively apply methodology and enforce projects’ standards
  4. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  5. Guide & supervise teams’ work
  6. Will be responsible for overall achievements of project/team milestones
  7. Any other Task Assigned by the Supervisor

 



  1. 2.    QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

 

Education (Degree/Certificate & Subject):

•          Bachelors with minimum 10 years working experience in social development sector or Master with minimum 7-8 years working experience in social development sector.  

 
 

Training/Skills Required:  

  • Having problem solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills particularly in MS Word, Excel, and power point.
  • Good writing, communication, proofreading, editing and presentation skills.
  • Experience of conducting training, capacity to supervise, mentor and coach staff.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and manage time well.
  • Residents of the respective district will be preferred.
  • Previous working experience in respective district will be referred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Having strong team building, communication and reporting skills
  • Having sound knowledge of Gender related policies, laws and practices

 

 

Experience (Industry Specialization, Previous Position Held, Specific Expertise)

•          Bachelors with minimum 10 years working experience in social development sector or Master with minimum 7-8 years working experience in social development sector.
